  1. After playing a bit assigning and unassigning vehicles and soldiers to a chinook, it suddenly stops allowing me to assign vehicles to my chinook, even when I have wnough space to do so.

In addition, I couldn't assign more than one vehicle to my transport even when I had the space to do so.

If someone could please tell me where can I find my savegame I would attach it, cause it reproduces the bug everytime I load it.

    Thx.

  2. Sorry! My bad, I meant alpha stage, not beta!

Big updates? I'm looking forward to them, still can't believe that someone is finally doing a game with ufo mechanics and appealing aesthetics... I'm impressed by the artwork so far.

I've introduced the game to a couple of friends. Liking it aswell so far.

  3. Wow, my post was received with an unexpected amount of sarcasm...

I think you just didn't understand what I meant. I mean in no way that the game is totally unrelated, but just take a quick look at aaaaall the other x-com versions that are floating around the web and tell me:

    ¿Don't you fight aliens?

¿Don't you build and manage a base?

¿Don't you fight in a turn based sequence against them (in most of them)?

¿Don't they have all the characteristics you, zhab, described in your post?

    and now....

    ¿Aren't they bad? like...¿Really bad?

Do they have the same feel?

that's pretty much my point, like it or not.

  4. I've been reading more thoroughly through all the similar bugs reported and it might have something to do with moving either a medkit or a grenade, or switchin a grenade for something, I'm not really sure cause I didn't play since last 3 or 4 times that bug crashed my game :P. I will try to reproduce it myself and I'll get back to you.

However, it could perfectly be one of those bugs about moving medkits or grenades, or changing them, and I might have forgotten what I was doing at that particular moment...

Anyway, I'll get back to you when I have more info on this issue.

  5. I've tried many combinations and arrived to the following conclusion after a hundred or so engagements:

Attack with 2 F17 + MIG 32 = Either UFO escapes or is destroyed

Attack with MIG 32 = 50% chance of destroyed, 50% chance of crash site spawning.

Attach with 2 F17 = 90% will leave a crash site (if not all)

Always considering you fight over land, of course. If you want them to leave crash sites, play low firepower approach. If you want to save time for research or another stuff, wipe them out with the triple death combination.

  6. With your permission, let me return to the original topic in order to ask a simple question about Firaxis' UFO:

¿What the hell does that title have to do with the original X-COM?

    -Different camera work & perspective

-Many different mechanics (starting by the hexes)

    -Different aesthetics

-Dumbed down management (cause it stinks of console port, those screenshots)

I can't see the slightest risk for xenonauts in the release of this game, as risk involves some users not buying xenonauts in order to buy XCOM:EU, and that's just not going to happen. I see much more plausible the option of buying xenonauts because of the advertising firaxis makes of the XCOM series, which will bring some people to the lore and game mechanics of XCOM, and they'll get interested on similar games, which, at the moment, are quite dissappointing (or shut down for IP reasons) except for this one.

  7. Hello everybody. Just bought the game and played it for a couple of hours. I have to say that although the game is obviously in a early stage beta (same maps over and over, silly alien models, no initial research, bugs...) the ideas and the development I've seen so far is without doubt the work of someone with TASTE. Finally! A X-Com based game developed by someone with taste... Almost couldn't believe it when I tried it.

Anyway, keep up the good work, and I hope you can make a more stable version soon so I can play a bit more continuously and report proper bugs (not constant crashes :P, no pun intended).

Thanks again for developing a worthy successor of the X-COM spirit, with such a good taste.

  8. Hello! Just bought the game and I've been playing the game for a few hours.

I've repeteadly encountered a bug that makes the game crash, and it triggers when I use the key "I" to open my inventory (didn't try to open it otherwise) and close it quickly (might not have anything to do but I ocasionally press "I" accidentally to close it, cause "I" doesn't close it, just open it, but it's an instinct. It just freezes and crashes the game.

It's an annoying bug for anyone playing in iron man mode, I guess I'll restart on normal :P
