  1. I had to chime in and say that X-Division fixes this. It removes the cap per mission and makes every action count forever. We also slightly adjusted how much points is needed to level for every stat. The result is that X-Division players stopped worrying about stats gain and simply played in their favourite style. A common counter argument to this is that players can simply max their soldiers in one mission. Yes, but a game can be exploited in unlimited ways. And if you wanna spend 6 hours doing this its your choice. It definitly isnt necessary. Again something which X-Division fixes. We increased the defense and accuracy bonus and increased the cost. The result is that players only crouch soldiers which they think they will stay in a stationary position for longer. This is not advertisement for X-Divison, but rather my oppinion that a system doesnt have to be thrown overboard but only tweaked a little bit to be use- and meaningful. Has nothing do with the engine, and can occur in 2 or 3d by developer decision. What is complex for 1 person is easy for another one. What people on the internet forget is that our skill level to play a game is very different all across the world. Developers need to strike a balance to make the game interesting ( challenging ) while still making it as accessible as possible to reap in the maximum amount of revenue.
  2. Actually, im retired, so i would appreciate if you could ask in a place where other people can answer you questions. How about the main thread ? Everything in the main X-Division folder. The aiprops.xml sets the armour for aliens. It is not not working, it is disabled. Terror maps should be small enough and the AI not that campy enough that you will find the last alien in a reasonable amount of time. Have you tried the windowed mode in the launcher ?
  3. So its different from simply minimising a programme ? Sounds like a simple minimising to task bar.
  4. Aye. I just dont think the impression that X-Division crashes at ever step and corner is a correct one, and fata morgana reports dont help to improve the stability of the game. I streamed X-Division tonight and encountered a freezing bug right after i reaction shot a reaper, no GC save was loaded. So the freezing bugs still exist, they appear sometimes and thats why i save every other turn. Mulligan encountered a Crash on Load yesterday. All in all bugs pop up every now and then but the game is totally playable and we try to keep it as stable as we possibly can. Thank you for the info, it helps. Maybe not now and not tomorrow, but the cross information from different players help paint a more clear picture than talking back does good ( you know who you are ).
  5. There is not. I think i have answered all possible questions ever asked and the answers are spread all across the internet. From youtube over reddit to forum posts. From live twitch over steam to nexus releases. If somebody could collect all that and call it a manual you would have one. If you can read the files its very easy to collect the information you need, although you might not understand how some things work. Basically X-Division works like Xenonauts, and some mechanic changes are explained in Xpedia entries. I fear your best bet is asking people how things work or make your own manual for other people to enjoy. Go through the researches.xml with Excel and cross reference with Yed. A defensive position always has the advantage, thats the twist. But you have more numbers, so throw a smoke, let a rookie run in and then hope for the best. The rest of the squad finishes the mission. They have a better range than grenades and better ammo conservation than rocketlaunchers. Cannons are not my first choice either, as in the best case scenario you won´t need them at all. They are more situational when you either 1. are so far ahead you dont need loot anymore or 2. the mission is so abysmall that you just equipt everybody with cannons and flatten the whole map ( base attacks, terror sites, etc ... ). Not every weapon is equally valuable for every situation. Good luck, i hope you will find your answers.
  6. What is "disappear" ? What is your "dedicated software" ? If it has something to do with win10 than we can do nothing about that. If you need help you will have to follow the guidelines: Anyway, thanks for the heads up.
  7. Every single of your reports is like chasing a Fata Morgana. A game cant disappear, it can only Crash To Deskop ( CTD ) or it can close. Apart from the fact i dont know what went on i only want you to make a report from now on following the guidelines i laid out in the OP. Also work a bit on your descriptions. Other people are here for the first time, you have been here long enough to follow the rules, so please do.
  8. Most likely. Civilians and Locals run around on every map and the statistical possibility, after a reload, of that happening is there. A robodog spawns and a civilian, which movement comes after the alien one, runs past it. BOOM FREEZE. Same for any other melee alien that had any reserved TU anywhere on the map, even if it just accidently had them because the hiding spot was the best one before the next turn. There could ofcourse also be unexplained bugs happening, but the frequency is something like 1 in 500 hours. Thats stable enough for me. Just try out what i said and see if you get anymore freezes. If you dont, you know you fixed it. Edit: Anyway, this topic is over.
  9. @PALUOh i forgot, i improved the drone AI a bit so it doesnt reserve TUs for reaction fire that much ( and thuse doesnt have an opportunity to cause a freeze ): aiprops.xml About not fixable freezes, i can technically remove the reaction fire capability for said units as reaction fire for them doesnt see that much of usefull useage anyway, but i dont want to limit the AI just because Xenonauts was coded badly. Apart from that the AI doesnt get into situations like these very often either, and if you didnt load a groud combat save it wont freeze even if it happens. The point is i dont want to limit my own experience just because other people dont want to play honestman. Nor do i want to limit other peoples experience if they want to play honestman ( as this is the intended/standart mode ). If you want to remove them however here is the code disableReactionFire="1" in the weapons_gc.xml under <props> for each weapon. Then you would have a 100% freeze free game, even on reload.
  10. Mulligans installation video has been integrated into the installation description: 8. Installation video by Mulligan if you need more help
  11. 1. Its not for you to decide what useful information is. Secondly, i need the modloader, a description of the things which lead to the bug and in the best ( or worst ) case video proof. People who are playing/recording right now like Mulligan, Svinedrengen, Dagar and myself are all playing bug free. So whatever it is it doesnt seem to be major issue or even exist at this point, apart from the things mentioned. Well, 1.0 hasnt been out for that long, and i havent heard of any freezing reports since it did. But you are right, technically it can still happen for robodogs, melee roboreapers and melee xenomorph. The main difference between us and other people is that we usually dont save and load right after a mission. Going into a terror site, saving and continueing the next day has the biggest chance of creating bugs, since you have to load a ground combat save with a maximum number of units remaining, as you said. The more you play honestman, and thuse dont load, the less bugs you have. Nothing of that is fixable, its the loading issue with how Xenonauts was coded. Bottom line is if you never load a GC save you will never have a bug. Beyond that it gets less stable.
  12. They are under the advanced installation options for people to choose from. If you are still getting freezes we need a report, as tracking down bugs from hearsaying is hard.
  13. @LadyAthena Unfortunately both wrong. 1. There is no freezing in the game anymore par the ambient sound mod ones. Deactivating them removes all freezing from the game, except for xenomorph missions ( reaction attacks by xenomorphs after a load can technically still cause a freeze ). 2. Normal saves are usually never corrupted. So restarting and reloading saves will work, even if you need a few attempts. The game should only be played with manual saves, as other saves dont work quite well.
  14. Scared of reflex shots. The AI knows if you have reserved TU for that. Although i fixed that behaviour a bit for the next version.
  15. Yes, terror attacks are lagging a bit behind in schedule in a new phase.
  16. This is why i never say somethings is impossible, because then some mother****** comes along and has to prove me wrong . Note however that you are taking a lot of damage from flying so close, which makes 2 or 3 iterations of pulling that of unlikely, and that is what a squad of f17 most likely has to make to make a successfull run. Also note that you use up a lot of antimissile by having to stay so long on the tail of the terror carrier. Assimiliated Alien Fighters would not only be able to pull this of without harm, but they would also be able to conserve more antimissile by manually dodging drones. This is the original design and how you should make the run. However with 5 bases at the start ( + radar ) i found myself too tight on money to afford the scientist/trolls to have the production for this. This is why i replaced the Fighters with basic f17. Well done !
  17. Either you changed the game files or you are using a glitch, which you SSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH shouldnt tell anybody about .
  18. Yes, thats the point. but there still is a 10% percent death on impact ratio. So ... small chance. Still the design is that a crashsite should be more rewarding than a terror site, but it is also MORE difficult than a terror site ( 24 less civs to shoot at, 12 local forces less which cant help you, smaller map, more enemies, and a carrier to storm ).
  19. @PALUIm sorry for the misleading traits which seem to have been there. From my perspective if you put 2 months of work into something at one point you want to start asking questions of why you are doing this, eg. putting the ball onto me seems to be wrong way around in my perspective. You are doing the work, you gotta make sure that you know what you need to know. Im NOT managing you, eg. you are not part of the team, therefore i have no responsibility of making sure you know what you have to know. This is like if somebody tells you to help him and you expect to get payed. You gotta make sure that you are on the same page BEFORE you commit to something. Which falls onto you, because you are doing the work. The point about this is that at one point you expected me to answer every single questions truthfully in court, because you thought you were the official writer and part of the team. So slowly started to act like i owed you any kind of answers. The confusion is on your part as well, because, like i said you werent, hence there cant be any kind of confusion which i caused. This should have been an indication that i didnt have any kind of responsibility towards you, but people just like to see what they like to see ( dont take that the wrong way, its a general truth ). Or you could have simply repeated the question, or pointed out that you still need an answer to that specific question. Again, im NOT managing you, it falls to you to make sure you get the information you need ( in a polite way ). I feel the same way about this, but i aint an angel in disguise. Most of my posts are aggression free, even when you started to spout that nonsense about the Ancient things earlier, but im still a human being apart from being an X-Division developer, with oppinions and emotions. But you are right, i noticed that too. If you want an emotion free environment you will have to wait until everybody gets replaced with robots . I hope with this we are on the same page.
  20. What can i improve on my behaviour ? Edit: I looked up how this all started and these are the earliest things i could find. What followed was an encyclopedia of questions on your side, which i answered, and then you started to post entries, with a lot of questions spiked inbetween, which i also answered. And that basically continued till the present day. At no point did i state that i will take any of your work. Im sry that this has been misleading you, but there is no way that you silently become an official writer just because you post enough. I dont think your work is bad and encourage you to finish what you started to make your own fanmade lore mod ontop of X-Division, but nothing of that is Official. Whatever you do is 100% up to you, im only here to answer questions ( if i want to ) and make suggestions ( where i think you should improve things), but that is all. You take care of the things you wanna do, and i take care of the things i wanna do Cheers Mate Edit2: More examples
  21. From the design view it should be possible, but practically it isnt. The main problem is that the foxtrot are pulling more aggro than the f17, and when the UFO switches targets will be prefered. Check my channel, in my latest videos i brought down 2 terror carrier, but couldnt save a single foxtrot. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJiDtR6YHRDiW4dpa_F-2aQ [Inappropriate wording deemed by forum moderators and due to that deleted ( by me )]
