  1. I love the ambiguity in the OP: "These are the available mods" and "if the mods like it maybe it'll be stickied."

    Awesome list, by the way.

    How would one mod the game, by the way? Would the mods work on the Mac client?

    I choose a mod you want to install, download it. Then click forum post next to the download box and it should give you instructions on how to do it. You will have to probably find the game file and copy paste some stuff. It's not rocket science but I can see some people having trouble with it.

    Unless the download is in mac then it won't work, unless you can find out what the mod script says and type it out yourself.

    BTW I'm really looking forward to modding the crap out of xenomonkeys, it's gonna be like XCOM all over again.

  2. Ok unzip these files into a empty UFO save folder and load it up. Not quite 20 bases cos I got fed up waiting. It is on Experienced mode, if you want to make it easier, copy the bases, craft and loc .DAT files into a new game save on a setting of your choice.

  3. I tried using a mod to spawn 20 alien bases but it didn't work, it made my base an alien base and spawned 50 other bases.

    Ooops

    I'm gonna do it the old fasioned way and get the aliens to build them, then pull out the LOC.DAT and BASE.DAT files form the save, and inject them into a brand new save. Also I don't think I will be able to have the bases lit up on the map so you will have to find them yourself (unless you use the extender mod)

    Also I'm being kind and giving the xcom base a strategic layout for base defences cos there WILL be allot of base defences early on.

    That's a real fucker when they do that, like with the squats, they removed the squats rules so you couldn't play with them, surely if you had been collecting them for ages and then you can use them you would be pissed man.

  6. no need to apologise, you are a customer and are entitled to a good old gripe every now and then :P

    Only thing I will point out is that Goldhawk have had a few issues during the production that have slowed things down like paypal freezing their account, and the game engine developers ignoring them when asking for the source code. But things are really starting to shape up now, the game is looking great and the road to beta is in full swing.

    Also some of the AI is currently disabled and that is why the aliens wont leave the UFO until discovered.

    Roll on next week so we can see what the next update has in store :)

    TBH this is a very friendly forum which is quite rare these days especially for a computer game forum, normally nerd are crawling out the wood word to attack whatever statement you try to make *cough* BATTLELOG!!

    So any questions i'm sure we will try t help, I try to pop my head in about once an hour on here so i'll be sure to see any active topics.

    BTW have you seen closet yettis youtube channel yet???

    about 3weeks ago i found out about this game as a new xcom (more like original version), i read some things on web about it, foud out that som1 is working for like 3 years now on it, and i said that to preorder because they really must have something nice by now, preordered, downloaded, played a little and the the geoscape freeze he is talking about that makes the game totally unplayable = major bug

    i said, ok, it is a bug, happens, it is a work in progress, so som1 will work on it soon

    it is 2 weeks and not one feedback about a date on the fix by now

    sorry but i am starting to get a little frustrated here - not because it is a dam bug, but because of the poor feedback on the bugs section

    I sympathise with your frustration brother but please bare in mind that this is only an alpha test (as you know) The feedback from devs is very good in my eyes. I have observed this community for over a year and have nothing but positives for them. I know you have only recently joined so you wouldn't know this but please trust me the feedback is good on here.

    If you read a few posts up from chris (lead dev) it says:

    Yeah, we're aware of this, sorry. It'll be fixed in the next version, probably some time next week.

    So please have faith :)
