The roles can be changed (and you can even make custom roles) and are used for quickly equipping soldiers as you want them so you don't have to drag every little piece of equipment from and to their inventory.
Yes the machinegun is useful. It has an accuracy penalty if you move before fireing it (sniper riles do too) so that might account a bit for the low accuracy you are experiencing?
Remember that whilethe percentage might seem low the chance to hit with one bullet out of a spray is higher because you fire off more than one bullet.
Also there is suppression.

perhaps. but your rooms looked more like rooms with cover than rooms with "obstruction" or unavaliable areas. Maybe there isn't any destinction and I'm just overly pedantic.
-
The last one would work if you made a row of available tiles along the edges of the square and just put in 4 walls (preferebly indestructable if that can be done) at appropriet places.

Research already has a dimishing returns formula in place.
Yes he had been told that, what he was asking for was something conveying that... PErsonally I feel that the game is better if that particular mechanic remains hidden.
Not everything should be glaringly obvious to the player.
-
You can build them. You've already got one under construction in that save. Make sure you have the right base selected when you view the Workshop.
Is ther being any progress made on the construction though?
-
To cope the corridor needs to be the same size and shape as a building as well.
Couldn't you make them any shape you wanted as long as there's a row of available tiles along each side?

I belive that 2 pilots doing nothing just sitting there will be equally jarring for some people. This would be a nice addition to the artwork that is the landing helicopter. just add in 2 pilots in the seats and PLEASE make them able to see things in front or next to the front of the helicopter for us.
Impossible. The engine can't handle overlaying a different colour on the uniform. You'd need to create a new set of sprites of the uniform for each colour. It would be too much work for too little reward. And it would increase the games size on the HDD too much.yes please, one of the only things i liked about the new xcom was that i color coded my team for my ease of identifying them similar to what you see on us aircraft carriers. each role had its own color to id it. i used blue for supportive troops and black for up close and personal assault troops
I'm not so sure that would be more fun. I think it would take away from the game in the long run. It's part of the challange.you dont like it when they stand between all your guns and an alien only to die to reaction fire from all the left over tus you have since you chose not to shoot past an idiot civilian the previous turn? I have to agree with you a way to tell a npc that they should go behind you and see them listen would be nice. or just make it to where the ai makes them run from aliens and understand that being behind your troops is the safer location
THat would mean the aliens do the same and I think that annoyance would outweigh the benefit. In the end it wouldn't be fun. Although the strafing with a shield could possibly be nice.I understand the argument that stepping out shooting and stepping back is the same thing... but its not. if i shoot from around a corner i only expose half to 3/4 my body depending on which side i have to lean(im no good shooting lefty) and if i were to throw a grenade around a corner or into a room (think flashbang when breaching a ufo) I would only bother exposing my arm, toss it around safely then enter. I would settle on the grenade toss around corners added and the ability to strafe so my man with a shield can strafe out from behind a wall not step out exposing his side then get shot. -
Have you used any map pack mods? or is it only standard Xenonauts maps?
Have you tried validating your installation?
-
zip it up using winzip or winrar or something then upload it to mediafire or dropbox and post the link
(if the zipping part is too troublesome you can probably skip that part)
-
mediafire or dropbox usually works great.
-
please provide which version of the game you are playing (for future bug reports please write it in the topic). It helps Matthew and goldhawk track the bugs.
have you installed any community maps or is it an unmodded game?
-
What version of the game are you playing?

As mentioned earlier (see here) the clone soldier issue is still existing. I have now expereinced that they share damage, time units and carried weapons.
I have relocated the soldier to another base and now I have one soldier in each team. The clone soldier in the original charlie can not be removed or replaced by another guy.
That is the same version... if you havent changed to the experimental build and there has been no stable update why would you expect the bug to have been fixed?
-
Some type of grey graduation would look very cool.
My favourite mockup is from buzubuzu: http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php/1243-V9.1-Ground-Combat-Fog-of-War?p=15507&viewfull=1#post15507
(could the images for the black FoW be made bigger than the grid system? sort of overlap each other.)
-
That comes as a surprise to me. Why would that be advantageous? If you have two research projects that each require 100 "units" of research input, wouldn't it always be better to research them sequentially? Sequential and concurrent research will both take 200 "units" to complete the pair, but sequential will finish the first in sequence in half the time.
There should be diminishing returns to scientists allocated to the same project. Not sure how much these diminishing returns are thought. It might not matter that much.

How would you let the player place the doors though?
-
Is the community map pack up to date? I recall seeing someone having issues with black areas on the map fairly recently.
-
Is is that drone using itself as cover?
-
mediafire or dropbox I guess? just set it to public access so anyone can get it.
-
Would such things be optional or mandatory if you build a corridor? I ahve a hard time imaginening how you would fit in the functionality of buying doors or turrets after the fact.additionally, corridors could be equipped with armored doors which take a while to tear down or even defense turrets. Maybe an alternative "fortified tunnel" structure available after researching some alien tech.
Would not having extra defenses for corridors would raise the question as to why the normal rooms dont have those doors, turrets or defensive measures?
So basically, corridors, at a cost, allow to expand the "buildable" base space to either:- optimize a base for defense (separate hangars)
- accelerate construction (build tunnel grid first, then all structures at once)
- help plan base layout (space initial structures with tunnels then fill in the blanks )
Overall that would really speed up the rate at which you can fill up a base with buildings. Unless Chris, Aaron and those guys over at goldhawk feel it's going to slow atm something would probably be needed to balance that. I guess money (building cost) could be used to replace time as a cost? but would that be fun? Are there any other ways to balance it?

I dont remember anymore how it exactly worked. But there was a lobby and several multiplayer modes.
It was for Enemy Unknown.
"Enemy Uknown" can refer to both X-com94 and to XCOM2012, which I tried to explain in the last post

someone in another thread suggested the local forces was using nets.

I get to May 4 at 12:57 and the game totally freezes in the GeoScape. I've tried reloading and rebooting and different actions in the one day between the save date and May 4 at 12:57... happens every time. I think the game is about to spawn a new wave of UFOs. Windows reports the game is "not responding".
Haven't tried renaming the save game file and loading that.
could you upload the savefile to some filehosting site so the devs can have a look at it? I'm guessing that would be helpful to them.
-
The devs are usually very appriciative of savefiles so please do post a dropbox-, mediafire- or filehostsiteofyourchoice-link with the savefile. (attachments dont really work on the forum for some reason)
