  1. You know what, I might just re-envision this window. It'd make more sense if it was a pop-up at the start of the mission in the same way that the explanatory tooltips are.

That way it's less intrusive in the long term than it being there all the time....and if it's a briefing you've seen before, it just wouldn't need to appear. If it contains new information it could pop-up normally though.

Are you going to make it part of the Esc- button menu? Or how will you look at it again if you want to review it?

EDIT: Nvm Already got answered :P

I know someone might not like everything but I think that her face just doesn't go well together with that helmet. Now I will not tell you to change it, but if you also think something is not right here then I will look forward to some changes.

Kind of looks like that particular face is turned too much straight towards the camera. That it isn't positioned the same way the others are.

  3. First off, I want to say that I really enjoy your upgrades to the stock vanilla skins. I hope that the devs decide to use yours instead of what they have.

I really hope that the developers keep what they have and continue to keep this as optional. Don't get me wrong. I think it looks amazing and I will most likely use this. But I still want to use the original as well.

  4. I'm disappointed! I was expecting pink, lots of pink. Possibly also unicorns in the background instead of the transport chopper. :(

PS: The longer I look at the legs something about them looks really off. Like she doesn't know how she wants to stand, like she is in the middle of shifting pose or that she is horribly misshapen.

  5. Because that word is used a lot in my job. It tends to be written down in notation as 4 v 8, i.e. 4 vice 8, i.e. 4 instead of 8. Most peope say "vi-sss" but I know that's not correct and I wanted to pronounce it correctly.

Latin being a dead language there is no real correct way to pronounce it as I understand it. You will have to go with either the Italian, French or Spanish pronunciation, or maybe use "versus" instead of that Latin word.

  6. Is it possible to mod the enemies to be resistant to a particular type of damage? I think there was plan for that but I'm not sure if that made it in or got scrapped?

I'd love to be able to mod in parallel ballistic and energy weapon tech trees (possibly where one excludes the other) that together with the above allows you to pick which half of the aliens will be easier to deal with. (or if you're still able to research both requires you to mix and match weapons from both tech trees)

  7. Ironman is not supposed to be friendly :). Isn't the point of it to go with whatever happens? Why should the game help with avoiding its own rules?
I'm not sure what you are talking about. THe rest of us are discussing something to skip pointless/uneccesary/tiresome micromanageing by redefining the same roles over and over again)
Besides, if such an early screwup really means the game has to be started over, maybe there's a different problem with the game than a default loadout.

Isn't that the point OP and stellar rat is making?

  8. @ Gorlom: Why would they be biolocked to an individual alien so they're not interchangeable? That argument doesn't make sense; assuming biolocking were to be in place, all aliens would be authorized operators, with authorization likely being verified via implants. Further, the self-destruct mechanism could easily be imprinted to the last authorized operator; when it dies, the mechanism kicks in.
Oh I wasn't even talking about the lockout function, I was only talking about the selfdestruct function. I see a lot of problems with that last "imprint on the last user" bit. It's likely to either destroy more weapons than it should (because noone new imprinted before the operator died) so aliens may end up without a weapon or if the imprint is temporary some weapons get left in the storage locker so the whole exercise is pointless since the humans get their hands on weapons anyway.

And this is assuming the whole concept works flawlessly (The more "user friendly" or interchangable you make something the more prone it is to bugs/malfunction). Worst case scenarios has the equipment malfunctioning in various devestating ways after overheating or misuse by noncombatants.

Noncoms wouldn't even be educated in the maintenence of these high tech weapons, would they?
