It should work fine with VMWare. Crossover Games isn't virtualization.
VMWare doesn't support certain audio interfaces, like mine. So, it doesn't work for me. ;-)

This is a 2D game, so you can run it in a virtual machine.
No, not necessarily. Even though it requires less CPU and GPU than a 3D game, issues still can be detected.
From my experience, it doesn't work well with Crossover Games nor booting Win7 with Parallels Desktop 6. The only way i found to have a perfectly working game was natively booting under Windows, via Bootcamp.

I work on Mac, and use Bootcamp for gaming. Windows 7 works perfectly, and so does Xenonauts.
This is the most secure way to play this game on a Mac for the moment. I tried using Crossover Games, the result isn't very good. So either go with Bootcamp, or wait for an eventual ported Mac version.

Ok thanks!
Strange, i typed "flamethrower" in the search box to avoid an unnecessary double bug post. Heh, better twice than none!

Hi,
This bug may have been going on for a while though; when i add the flamethrower to one of my soldiers, i get a crash when accessing the ground combat section.
The GC loads, and once i get the briefing page, when i click on it, i crash.
Can somebody else tryout this combination? First soldier in the chinook is the one with the flamethrower.
Cheers,
Aleksi.

Maybe add another music score to the UFO intercept sequence? The music playing while intercepting a UFO is not that good and cuts off abruptly the geoscape background music.
There will be 2 other tunes to this part of the game. But they will be added last.

In France, nothing yet as well. Changelog is still at 8.1
When i ask for an update refresh, Desura tells me there is none available.
Patience then my friends.

Enjoy your holidays!

Didn't Chris say in that TotalBiscuit interview that the guy who made the music for Amnesia was hired to do the music in Xeno? Or was that just sound?
It was for the sound effects. ;-)

Surprisingly (or perhaps not) Mass Effect has some great tracks in the vein of tense, eerie, night time confrontation with the unknown:
To be honest, playing Mass Effect did have an impact for my inspiration regarding Xenonauts. Even though you won't probably find similar tones; this game marked sure. Its been a long time i didn't enjoy a game as much as ME, and the music was really good (apart from the orchestral cinematic scenes that i thought where a bit dull in comparison to the rest, and unnecessary). But, Bioware always has good composers that, it seems, enjoy a certain liberty to express they're creativity.

Perhaps something like this, but less complex and alien (?):
Well, i actually can't wait for people to hear what the night combat music will be like. It will be closer to your example.
Yet more eerie and subtle. And, i hope, creepy enough!

Arguably, if you don't use twitter for such inanity...you're not using it right.
Damn, i thought i wasn't doing it right... !

As long as you don't start tweeting about what you eat last night, if your girlfriend pissed you off, etc... Twitter can be a useful tool.
