Most of the medal suggestions above are still achievement awards. Come on, how many countries give medals for "kill 5 enemies?" Look on the internet to see what real people have to do to be awarded medals such as the Medal of Honor, Victoria Cross, Hero of the Soviet Union, etc. I have a stack of medals from the lower/middle end of the spectrum and even those weren't easy.

Any drug that could be used in an anti-psi capacity (like LSD) would also render you unfit for combat situations. This could be another tech area for research (which sounds too much like the drug tests in the 50s and 60s).

It does but its not used very often. I've seen it in elite units like honour guards. The army and marines still train with bayonets. I never saw a use for them though. I figure if someone was that close to me then I was doing something wrong.

From my own experience, carrying something like a Swiss army knife or simple tools was very common. Special Forces would also have their Bowie (or Rambo) knives.

Its a good chance they'd see heat like the alien in Predator. The troopers in that movie had camo for all the good it did them.

One of the things I hated about grenades in X-Com, especially alien grenades, was having some of my troopers in the blast radius. In Apoc though, I've actually dropped grenades at my own feet to get rid of those nasty hyperworms. Taking some damage and losing my pants armour was better than a good chance of dying anyway.

The graphics do look nice but I think the layout is weird. If you're going to do a 3D base a cube structure would make more sense than a flat horizontal (like EU, TFTD, etc) or a flat vertical layout (the new X-Com). A good hybrid solution would be to use, and expand upon, an existing cavern complex.

Would that create two crash sites at the same location or one crash site with two UFOs? I think I'd prefer the second option.

I would like to know what is being held for research so I know something I haven't or can't research isn't being sold off.

Its not so bad once you get used to it. Just pack some flares and toss them where you're going or where any shots came from. The insides of UFO or bases are still lit.

I thought the aliens were not the cause but were actually trying to investigate the mutilations. That would explain UFO sightings at McDonalds and red neck communities.

There's nothing to say that camo designed to fool human eyes would even work on aliens.

Can such a stolen copy even be updated on Desura? Or in any other way?
