  1. OK, another post with some of my plans and ideas; - Aircraft; With SoloA´s permission and help I could perhaps make a modpack and include either all of his aircraft or at least some of them. My concern in adding so many aircraft is, what function would they achieve? I mean MiG-21 would be great as a cheap, expendable interceptor for the early game and F-15 and SU-27 are a must as they are pretty much the premier air superiority aircraft of the era. F-14, F-111 and Tornado could be used to haul the avalanche torpedos (F-14 carried the heavy phoenix missile) etc. etc. As for future aircraft, I was considering adding the Eurofighter Typhoon, F-22 etc., They would require research of course and come into play before the corsair and marauder which would be moved further along the line making the war longer. - New techs; I was looking into the sub-level editor and found some alien items that apparently have no other use than as props, like the alien computer consoles and captains chairs etc. These could be made into researchable items. Here are a few tech ideas; *Alien flight controls/avionics; Clearly superior to anything humanity possesses, required to research new fighter craft, items required, an alien flight console. * alien composites; along with alien alloys, I would imagine they make use of different kinds of exotic composite materials, plastics etc. * alien body armor; requires a Sebillian elite or some other armored alien corpse, an andron would do I guess. Helps or is required to research better body armor. Separate research for different alien soldier classes; what effect these will have is open. Perhaps reveals some more lore if nothing else. New weapons; - The AA-12 automatic shotgun and the Franchi SPAS-12 combat shotgun. Also the more advanced ballistic weapons would require research of course and if possible they could have more advanced ammo types etc. - Alien medkit; I think the aliens would need some sort of a medkit for their soldiers and support units, right? Also, I have some questions; 1. How do you increase the amount of alien troops in the craft/mission? I tried downloading the mod for this effect but it was down. 2. How do you add new nationalities to the names list? Do I just copy-paste a table for an existing nationality and change the names? 3. Can I add new medals? Here´s a few ideas; Assault badge in bronze/silver/gold (awarded for successfully breaching an alien craft 1/5/10 times), Melee badge (awarded for successfully killing or stunning an alien unit in melee), Marksmanship badge ( for accuracy with weapons, a high accuracy value etc.) Well, there´s some more of my ideas, tell me what you think.   2. Hello all in the forums! I recently bought Xenonauts from steam and have been playing it nonstop for days now and as soon as I got around to looking at the file structure etc. I decided to embark on modding it. One of the great features of Xenonauts in my opinion is the fact that it is relatively easily moddable and my thanks go to the devs for that. Now, here´s a taster of what I´m working on, the British SA-80 Assault rifle with full animations etc. Here´s some pics via dropbox; https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45299890/SA80pics.7z The weapon inventory pics were easy to make, but the animations are a bit more work I must admit, but not overwhelmingly so. What I did with the animations was simply to look at the existing animations and I discovered that for example the shooting animations are made up of a few frames, which I named; idle, weaponlowready, weaponhighready, weaponaim. The rest was simply to redraw a suitable existing frame a bit to include the new weapon, for example with the sa80 I used the plasma carbine frames, because that was one of the only bullpup weapons available, so I would not have to redraw the hand positions, just the weapon as that is the limit of my artistic skills. Now, if there is anyone willing to help me in my project, I would be thankful. Here are some other weapons I plan to add; - Heckler&Koch G36 - P90 submachine gun - FA-MAS - Finnish Rk-62 or the newer Rk-62 76 (already begun working on a modified ak47 animation by coloring the ak black) - MP5 -Skorpion machine pistol (the shield carriers need some automatic firepower I think, that´s why the one handed skorpion) - tranquilizer pistol and rifle ...and others If possible I would also like to add weapons with grenade launchers like the m16-m203 combo and the light LAW-72 rocket launcher (takes less inventory space than a full rocket launcher) Also I looked up some sci-fi weapon photos from Planetside (anyone familiar?). I think the Planetside´s Vanu sovereignty weapons could be adapted to work as alien Phaser weapons (use laser effects), if one wishes to add more alien weapons to the game. Alien stun weapons should definitely be there (used for capturing live humans for study) The consideration that comes to mind in using planetside weapon pictures is legal of course and that consideration has to be looked into before using those photos, but since we would draw the animations ourselves and only use the photos for inventory pics, I don´t see much of a problem. I shall report back when I have more to show. Cheers!
