I would this would be an easy fix to push out. It seems about half of the encounters I am getting are hitting this bug.1 point

I installed 1.00.10 the latest I believe into a fresh directory, and I too have an annoyingly many number of "place holder" research screens. However I am willing to again uninstall X1, delete all of the associated directories and reinstall everything from scratch if you can assure me that all of the research screens should have content, no more place holders.1 point

At a high level I see 2 basic challenges. 1) Outdoors you can throw a grenade a healthy distance over traditional LoS obstacles but indoors the ceiling would affect distance due to bouncing off the ceiling. 2) Throwing a grenade around a corner where you have no LoS from a weapon point of view but we all can understand throwing something around a corner sight unseed. I think any more conversation on this should move to another location other than bug reports.1 point

I seem to be hitting this "undocumented feature" a lot. I hope to see this fixed in V5.2 when it comes out.1 point

That would be too easy, it looks like we are now just trolling this subject.1 point

I kind of agree with this. Experience improves your skills. Leadership is a whole different mechanic altogether.1 point

Confirmed, the Xsolla downloader appears to have detected the change and is in the process of downloading. Also confirmed V5.1 came up after launch. X1 X-Division has done nothing but kick my butt (got wiped many times), looking forward to making some progress even if just beta testing and unfinished game. Thank you Chris!1 point

How long has version 5 been our now? This does not bode well from a project management point of view. I have worked at Hewlett Packard for over a decade and my application portfolio is dependent on several upstream sources as well, but I would never tolerate allowing a deliverable be delayed this long by a dependent application, I would have senior management on the phone by now. Worst case, write Xsolla off as a mistake and request your users use a reliable vehicle to gain access instead.1 point

Thank you Chris. In another post it was said that 'Closed Beta Build V5 has now been released on Steam..." I have gone into my Steam account and I cannot figure out how to enable access to this via Steam instead of Xsolla. No doubt this has been commented upon in another post somewhere but I am having trouble finding information on this. Would you please point to me to the necessary information I need? Forgive my ignorance, but when I launch the Xsolla Downloader, it is not detecting version 5, only 4.2. Did I need to do something to get the downloader to install version 5?1 point

Thank you Captain Palu. You are correct, while struggling to stay alive, equipping and training my forces and placating the politicians for money, I will wait for the tier 2 game to come along and crush what little progress I make.1 point

To all of the people who built X-division, I thank you for your work. However this mod is just kicking my butt all over the place. I have restarted several times to correct some strategic mistakes. I am finally at the point where I have an objective to capture a live alien officer. I finally survived a terror mission, having been totally wiped out on many prior attempts. In this mission I capture a live Sebilian Chieftain and researched (interrogated) him. However the mission objective did not advance. Have I done something wrong or is there possibly something amiss with the mod? Please be kind and gentle with your reply less I start crying out of frustration.1 point

I have seen this too. I believe it is already reported, Several list views will have scroll bars added in next major release.1 point

I am playing X1 X-division while waiting for the next build and something just occurred to me. While on a ground mission, I do not have access to the X-pedia to look something up. So it would be nice to have a button or a way to get to the X2 Archives while on a ground mission. X1 now has those "Know Your Enemy" research articles, it would be nice if X2 had the same. And lastly, when is the Features forums going to get re-opened? This seems like a good place for the wish list. But here is okay too I suppose.1 point

I understand the content is not ready, I asked to have access as a feature. Not now, but when it is ready.1 point

I have seen several people reference to various stats, like on weapons and armor for example. Where in the game do I look at stats? Again for example a ballistic rifle vs an accelerated rifle?1 point

Ground combat, turn 1, sebillians with shield. Kill Sebillian with shield, everyone crouchs, click end of turn, ctd. output.log MIP.json1 point

Yes, only the starting funds on at the start of the game. I have started a new game same setup and so far 3 months and no new issues or CTD this go round.1 point

I have noticed that the Strength stat is all but missing in many places. Though I see it in the Armory view on the character, I do not see it in a lot of other places. 1) Not in Training 2) No increase in Mission Complete Summary despite being overloaded on purpose to improve strength. 3) Not on Soldiers page 4) Not on recruiting page. So is this by design or will it be fixed in future release? Item #2 above concerns me the most.1 point

I want to thank our illustrious leaders for educating me regarding the right click on the return fire option to enable reserving TUs during movement. It would be even better to has a way to reserve enough time to kneel/crouch at the end of movement too. A check box or another right click. OpenXcom has mods that do this and I really like this simple feature.1 point

Oh bummer, although I do appreciate the new concept, now it is incumbent upon me to be mindful of my TUs. Thank you.1 point

I love this video idea. What tools are you using to capture the video?1 point

I have same problem with current build v4.21 point

Good point, having been fired upon in real life, what alerted me to the location or source of the attack, was muzzle flash, then my eyes zoomed in on the attacker. Now granted some aliens have better eye sight or better sighting technologies, and some may have inferior. Likewise player sighting equipment or detection devices (motion sensor for example) would be helpful as well. Wonderful topic LoS, it has so many dimensions to consider, like my simple peripheral vision thread and the counter considerations provided. It is a game, and it cannot be a perfect real life simulation. Sometimes I have the LoS advantage and sometimes I do not. As Gunny Highway says, you adapt, improvise and overcome.1 point

I have a similar question regarding training. I am allowed to set training before I build a training center and when I do complete the building, I do not see any real difference either. What is the status of training in v4.2 today? Also regarding training, the strength training is missing from the pick list.1 point

I found the output.log folder, but where does this Mission_18_Ufo.json come from? I only ask because I want to make sure that when I provide logs and screen shots, I am giving all available diagnostic information that I can. By the way, the "red text" then ctd scenario, is that "red text" captured somewhere?1 point

It feels at times that games seem to unnaturally restrict the field of vision. In OpenXcom after I added a mod to increase the field of vision and it made a big difference in game play. Most games I find I am unnaturally turning (and burning precious TUs) to expose areas, and this is just not a natural feel to me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peripheral_vision https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-maximum-human-field-of-vision Additionally I might add, I have been "surprised" by aliens standing next to me not only because I did not see them, but I did not hear them nor did I smell them or even get that weird feeling something is near by to me. All of this would be too granular to implement, but a wider field of vision would help some.1 point

I had just received a Mission Complete and looking at the summary screen. I click the continue button and got a quick flash of red text then crash to desktop. Please find attached the output.log and recording.rec file at the moment of crash. Logs.7z1 point
