One more interesting fact about Reapers - they do not attack local forces/civilians. Really, I never ever saw them doing that. They always rush for my guys. It's like Xenonauts operatives are the most delicious meal in the galaxy.
The only thing a reaper has ever killed in my game was a civilian.

I know it's supposed to be silly, but I didn't know we recruited our soldiers based on bust size.

open weapons_gc.xml
search for string weapon.machinegun
find shotcount
alter 10 to 3
EDIT: For some reason, that aint working, even though is should.
Can someone answer cleft's question and enlighten me as well
Editing strings (like description) works ingame, but alteration of a weapon doesnt, neither on load nor newgame. ty.
If you're trying to test it by immediately loading a savegame into a battle, sometimes that doesn't work- you have to go to the global map then engage a new target after changing the files. It does work.
If you change the shot count to 3, remember to change AP values as well. 80% cost to shoot 3 bullets isn't great.
@Fucille To summarize, you make the game easier....There is no more fun than an industrial night mission, especially with a rookie team + iron man.
That's not fun at all.

How is it that world class special operations soldiers are so constantly clumsy and inaccurate with grenades ? I was in the U.S. Army for awhile and threw grenades many times and I NEVER saw anyone as incompetent with a grenade as a Xenonaut.
You would be really surprised what I've seen some officers do. Ever watched a 2LT pull the pin from a smoke grenade and hold it because she wasn't told to throw it yet, then drop it because it's too hot, right at her feet? That's what I imagine everytime that happens.
-
I don't think you hold it. You rather hold on to it. =P
But seriously - it's a basic bullpup design. A bit short for the off hand but workable. Perfectly justified by Rule Of Cool. =P
I can understand Bullpup, but for that to work it would have to be the size of an SMG at most for anyone but a giant. The handle is too far forward. But that's a 'Heavy Assault Rifle', ie big.
Pretty much every bullpup design you'll see has the trigger at the middle. It bothers me!
Game needs more AWP btw. Otherwise, cool stuff.

Some of these are cool, but I don't understand how the Heavy Battle Rifle could possibly work. How do you hold it? I don't understand.

After so much of all this I hate zombies, now.

Oof, didn't even notice this was two years old, no wonder it was causing ctd. Would like an update, but the maker is probably long gone.

Oh, yes, that's awesome. Thanks. I'm using the rest of your mods too, I really like them.
Also, those ones are from the old CS, but all three CS use very similar voice files so it's hard to tell.

Update:
I've uploaded the file on the nexus:
http://www.nexusmods.com/xenonauts/mods/3/?
I really feel like this is an un-found gem. If you're on the fence just give it a try and tell me what you think.
I think the main reason I'm fence sitting is repetitiveness. Mainly for the movement procs.
I play CS a lot, which makes it even worse. It's a shame there's a limit. From the video, I could only hear the CS radio commands for movement, at least- it'd probably be cool if you got a couple voice actors to do original work. As is hearing 'Go, go, go!' every minute or so will drive me more insane than 99% hit chances will.
edit: Also, I happen to have a pretty well edited out sound file for 'Let's roll -oll', if you want it. I guess that would only really be funny to csgo players, though.
