  1. Hey guys,

    How do you reduce the AOE effect of the Vortex gun I've tried different tactics but in the end its just getting frustrating having my 3 or 4 guys knocked out at once just to have a guy with a medi pak go in to revive and pass out also and I don't like spreading out my guys all over the board just to avoid being knocked out by this I prefer a SWAT team formation just my own personal play style so any help would be appreciated I assumed it was in the weapons gcxml file right here but after I changed the radius from 3.5 to 1.0 the vortex gun still has same effect in game.

  2. Out of curiosity, has any of you guys tried the Long War mod(either the base game version or the beta version for Enemy Within)? I've been meaning to get around to do that, but I've haven't really been in mood for strategy games lately <_<

    I've been playing it for a few weeks now and for me it has made Xcom EW a completely new game I use the long war mod with camo textures on Ironman Mode. It added a ton of new features its definitely challenging no more just bumping into aliens they actually seek you out. They added new classes and new officier training the Aliens are twice as hard with new attacks don't even get me started on those chrysallids I cringe when I see them now. The aliens take over countries and level up themselves making them more challenging and your xcom soldiers can only do one mission at a time as they get fatigued so have to rest forcing you have a larger pool of good soldiers. But as of now I have to switch off between that and Xenonauts with XNT mod and a few others and having a great time now if there was a way to combine the two I would be living in a perfect world.

    next thing will be the heads, they will take some more time, so no previews for awhile. I will propably start playing the game again, instead staring at PS, and do faces as I "meet" them in-game.

    Can't wait til your done with this it all Looks amazing and better after each update but the males left ankle in the first picture and right ankle in the others looks kinda of weird like he is standing on the side of his foot and why does the male have his hands behind his back like he has handcuffs on? I was in the Marine corp and closest representation I can think of is standing at ease that would be tough to do with all that gear on in real life I can see them doing that with the basic gear but not the heavy gear is that what they are doing or is that an Anime inspired stance? If it is a military at ease stance maybe you can make the males arm stick out more so it doesn't look like he is handcuffed and adapt the leg and ankle stances more like this

    -Erst installiert ihr XNT, dann die deutsche Übersetzung.

    -Dann kopiert ihr die Datei gamesconfig.xml aus dem XNT Installationsarchiv, nach \Xenonauts\assets

    -Dies ist notwendig, da XNT mit anderen Werten arbeitet, als Vanilla Xenonauts.

    No idea, I haven't set up GC weapons or combat AI. But it would probably be prudent if you uploaded a savegame of when the bug happens so Tactical Dragon can check it out.

    @Blackwolf,

    Lol, you seem to tweak your game the same way I do (i set charlie --> 10, shrike --->12, valkyrie --->14). And to balance I double or tripple rank requirements (depending on rank). TD and Sentelin think it's not balanced though.

    Man I could sure use the help of 2 more soldiers per mission what file do I need to modify to increase the squad size also

  5. You didn't encounter nothing serious yet ... wait until those "stun guns" start killing your soldiers (their main purpose is to stun soldier but improved versions can kill).On what difficulty do you play ?

    Yeah I hate those can't count how many reloads I've had to do because of it, wish there was a gas mask in the game can't even get my guys in there to use a medi pak on their buddies with out passing out to , but I have to admit this is definitely not Xcom enemy unknown easy mode! :P Any one have a good tactic to fight against this?

  6. Didn't see this posted before so sorry if it was but I was wondering since I've looked everywhere in steam in game and in my folders with no luck, is there a way to see what game version I am running want to make sure I have the latest 1.07 patch installed so I can reinstall my mods.

  7. Yep, you can exchange portaits and uniforms. As long as you don't include any xml. files.

    Just open xenonauts/assets/soldierimages and overwrite the armours (and faces) you want.

    Remember that there is an extra armour in XNT - coyote. You should insert the faces (from any other Marines armour folder) there as well. Otherwise your soldier will change his face when he equips a coyote :]

    * Side note: You will get Russians dressed as US Marines...awkwaaaaaard.

    what is this coyote armor you guys keep talking about I've looked through my soldierimages folders and don't see any titled coyote
