  1. I think kabill, not sure, once started to add new missions types, but it seens impossible. I'm not sure if was he too, but once I read somewhere that someone was trying to create new UFO types but it also seens impossible. The game appears to reject the new stuff and and dont use them at all or freezes.

I'm not sure about the details, since I didn't tried to mod those things myself, but if guys like kabill and TacticalDragon wasn't able to do those things yet, I stand no chance anyway.

    So:

    - new missions types are impossible

    - new UFO types also impossible

  2. SHARE AND NEWS NO.29

    Hello XNT Players,

We'r testing lot of new elements for the game, but this time I write asking this questions:

    - Which music or track did you like or want to see in this game?

I'm still following the mod progress, but since I lack time to do some serious play throughs, I not giving feedback... but, hey, music to the game? Well, I dont need ingame experience to suggest some!

Well... I'm a huge fan of old school 16-bit musics and there is some from the old SNes that I think suit Xenonauts very well. But I also want the music to be tense and dark (the monotonous and repetitive OG XCom battle music still give me chills! So simple and perfect)

So, Clock Tower have one music that I think could be used:

Demon's Crest also have some annoying repetitive tense music that may be used:

Super Metroid theme is awesome awesome:

By the way... all of the Super Metroid soundtrack fits perfectly into the game! Just imagine you are doing an alien base mission for the first time listening to it:

    [video=youtube;8NoEvgpvDQc]

See the rest of the Super Metroid soundtrack releated in that last video on Youtube. It's filled with gold! I really think this game may have everything to provide a decent soundtrack.

  3. So Xeno was not released today, as expected, so I will come back to play it and test the new build and XNT Into Darkness lasted versions from a new game! I will just wait to TD release a revised version for new Xeno build.

By the way... Chris said that a new build may come out sunday. Revising Into Darkness now may become useless very soon. So may be best wait until sunday anyway?

  4. If you want squad combat, totally go for a modded Jagged Alliance 2. You cant go any better than that.

I would recommend Jagged Alliance 2: Wildfire with unofficial 1.13 patch and AIMNAS v21 mod (the experimental sbuild dont allowed a complete game and bigger maps suycks). With that even the size of ther pockets in your cloth matters while equiping your troops (I'm serious).

  5. I finished the first game and gave up on the second during a cruise ship mission.

Well have to give apocalypse a go after seeing all the accolades given here.

Oh if anyone's planning on another run of the first x-com game, hit up openxcom. Provides a much needed bug and interface fixes.

Oh, man! I didn't know about openxcom! That really looks interesting!

  6. Oh, man, sorry, I have to hue about it.

    UHEUehuHEUheuHEUehuHEUehuEHUheuHEUheuHEUheuH!!!!

That awful moment when aliens shot things at you that sucks your brain off!

  7. XCom: Apoc is my favorite XCom game ever. It have so much cool stuff that any other XCom game never ever even tried to do similar. But it also have some serious flaws, too... like Early and Mid game are awesome, but late game is a repetitive alien bashing ritual. I think there is a mod for it that helps to rebalance stuff, but I never tried it by myself. It also plays substantially different from the two previous games so be advised that you may have to learn how to play once more.

Any XCom games seems cursed to have outstanding stuff, challenging gameplay, awful balance and repetitive missions. I think every XCom ever is like this. But to me... XCom: Apoc is the best mix and is by far the most complex one. Give it a shot!

By the way the popper is all right to me... but those brainsucker bazooka-like alien guns are very fucked up...

  8. Omg, man! You did something similar to the OG auto cannon! That's freaking awesome! But it made me wonder if they aren't to OP... I mean, you ripped the aliens off in those videos.

By the way, with it, I will redo my RRE tactic... now it will be RR3xE... three times more "explode"! Hahhahaha!

But, anyway... I think I will be waiting until friday to test those. Xeno probably will be released that day and maybe the final version wont be compatible with the experimental builds.

  9. I would be more interested in a expansion for Xeno than a Xeno 2 (especially 'cause it's much more quickly and cheap).

Also they would be able to try out new features not presented in the OG and maybe change somethings in the engine that may reveal a liability after the release. Xenonauts may not be perfect but still surpassed all my expectations for such a indie game. It gameplay is way better than the OG or the 2012 remake and it is remarkable since, to me, in 20 years only two XCom-like games was better than the OG: XCom Apoc. and, now, Xenonauts.
