  1. I've noticed that some people have been on this forum for quite a while now, and have put considerable time and effort into making it what it is. I've also noticed that some of the long-term denizens seem to have established a certain degree of camaraderie, and almost seem to "know" each other, insofar as this might be possible on the internet.

This leads me to wonder, after Xenonauts, what? The game is finally released- I assume causing a spike in activity and interest- but then people inevitably drift off to the next big thing, and this forum slowly dies. I'm curious, from something of a sociological point of view, is that it? Are acquaintances (more or less) made here simply transitory? Have people on this site known each other from previous forums, or will they make any kind of effort to stay in some degree of contact after Xenonauts' lifespan runs its course?

On the one hand, it seems natural that people move on with their lives, with their interests, and branch out in a billion different directions, unlikely to ever "meet" again, but on the other hand, for those who have invested dozens (hundreds?) of hours to this forum and this product, and have debated, informed, argued, and joked amongst themselves to a considerable extent, it seems a bit...ephemeral?... that they simply scatter to the wind. Or is this a foregone conclusion given the amorphous nature of society today?

  2. I just started my first carrier attack and it was really crazy considering every turn someone went berserk apparently and then with everyone at I think 99+ morale(no reason not to be since no suppression or casualties) then after the apparent berserking one of my best troops gets mind controlled shoots another commander then after KOing said soldier I end turn and my game crashed :/

But hey at least I get to reload and hope it doesn't happen again

How exactly does berserking work since my soldiers don't really shoot anyone and it's during hidden movement, either a soldier is unnerved or berserks and nothing really happens in terms of morale or anything.

    also this

Edit: I know that morale should have an influence, at least the tips tell you so. I didn't really see anything, everyone had 99/99+ morale and got controlled/feared like crazy.
  3. Maybe it's time for shields to not fit in backpacks. You can still get more shields than you're intended if you're really dedicated' date=' but a) it's a pain in the bum to set up and b) it's a pain in the bum to make use of.

I think it'd be nice if you could load gear onto the Charlie/Shrike/Valkyrie like in X-COM & in the charlie and shrike there'd be like a wall mount of just a pile of gear you could go through to say have spare shields spare ammo spare weapons & whatever else you load, and with the Valkyrie it'd drop like a box or a drop pod with whatever else you have and just make another pile.

It seems like if you make shields unable to be carried by backpack and go with the equipment storage it would fix a part of shields being OP.

  4. Honestly I think auto resolve is ridiculous considering you can win a fight against a cruiser and two fighters with condors that are running plasma weapons and have 2 seconds combat time.

Another thing is it feels like you get to a point where you had small UFOs and then all of a sudden you see 3 mediums appear every other day in the same airspace which is really kind of annoying, it's either you get no ufos or 10 at once.(not really that big of a problem but just a bit annoying at times)
