  1. Ok, female names are interesting. For some reason, there is a lot of pretty uncommon or even exotic names:

Dina, Inga, Lucya, Nika, Renata, Emma, Marta.

They do exist, but are quite rare. At least I haven't met any girl with such name :)

At same time, a lot of really common names are missing, for example:

Yulia, Oksana, Ludmila, Anastasia, Irina, Viktoria, Nina, Tatyana, Maria, Daria, Elizaveta, Natalia.

Also, Katerina should be Ekaterina, if written in full.

Again, no ukrainian surnames in the list. Ukrainian female surnames usually have same form as male surnames, and usually end with -ko. Here's some examples: Piddubna, Maslo, Kovalenko, Bykhovets, Berko, Romanets, Sviatenko, Sokorenko, Kolyadenko.

  2. Hi everyone. I wanted to address one thing - names DB for soldiers of Soviet Union. Sorry if this was raised up before.

What I wanted to say, is that names list is not done very well. Here are the problems I found:

    - Common Russian/Ukrainian names are missing (Alexey, Andrey, Bogdan, Valeriy, Gennadiy, Stepan, Fedor, Ruslan),

    - Soft versions of regular names (Dima -> Dmitriy, Sasha -> Alexander, Max -> Maxim, Pasha -> Pavel, Kostya -> Konstantin*, Zhenya -> Evgeniy*). * means not present in the list.

    - Misspelled (Daniel should be Daniil) or non-slavic (Paul).

    - Only Russian surnames in the list (ending with -ov, -in, -ev). Ukrainian surnames commonly end with -o (Kovalenko, Kirsenko, Makhno, Pyatko, Shevchenko, Klichko), -uk (Kravchuk, Shevchuk, Tarasiuk), some are descendants of cossack "nicknames" (Perebiynis, Dyban, Kuchma). Not a full list by any means, just to give you some examples.

Ofc, this can be easily fixed by modding soldiernames file, which I did, I just wonder if devs can take a look at this and fix in some future.

  3. Hi guys. I had same issue as Trueknight here - no single soviet soldier after 30+ game restarts. I tried changing "chance" of getting soviet union soldiers in soldiernames.xml by setting it to 100 or even 1000 without any noticeable results.

Then I took a closer look at my roster. After each resturt I got roughly 60% americans, 30% canadians, rest were british, hungarian or

german. This are the nations, whose <Nation /> tags are located above soviet union. Opening up this file in notepad++ I saw that there are a few </Nation> tags misplaced in this file. I removed them and also rearranged nations so SU was at the top. Did same with soldiernamesfemale.xml, that had similar issues. Now I get pretty logical distribution of nations in-game.

I hope developers will fix this in next version though.
