I thought you could re-engage by selecting the plane then clicking on an enemy fighter to target... but yeah it's not intuitive.

Cheers for the fast reply... and fix

Just switched updated to v20 after playing experimental ver19 some months back, and yes i did install some map packs from off these forums somewhere. I played it safe and deleted the entire map directory as i figured there could be a heap of old maps conflicting. Will let you know if it happens again but it sounds like you know whats caused it. Thanks!

hmmm, wait and see if others respond i guess. but i always have time to send a second click before that inventory box dissappears, my mouse button had been acting up and double clicking all the time when i first noticed it. ive replaced the mouse but can still reproduce this by clicking fast.
[EDIT] Well i just did a "verify integrity of game files" via steam due to your advice about a map glitch i was having and this problem is now gone. As you said the inventory disappears immediately after the first click, so a corrupt file somewhere was probably the cause.

no sorry, I dont have a save. The civilian actually opened the spaceship door and ran in, so it wasnt like he saw the aliens through the open doorway. I was like CRAP!! you can see my shield still isnt up with the rest of the squad.

yeah, well it isnt going to crop up that often so i can see why you'd just leave it. warning peeps if you dropped a weapon on your last turn, head back to base!

Having downed 2 alien ships i proceeded to the 1st crashsite and engaged. When breaching the ship %$*# hit the fan so i got my my rocketeer to drop his launcher and use his side arm... He hit and killed the final alien! AWESOME!!!
Pumped from that kick arse ending i immediately fly to the second crashsite. Well when i go to use my launcher guy... he has no launcher! since the last mission immediately ended i got no chance to pick it up! So he spent the entire time running around with his pistol... suffice to say there were plenty of times when a rocket to destroy cover would have been super useful and numerous of his teamates died
It would be nice if we had an option to continue on a map and pick stuff back up so that if we arnt going straight back to base we can recover any dropped items, weapons from killed teamates etc.

Playing on one of the arctic maps and stumbled upon this square of nothing, i could shoot through it and killed an alien on the opposite side. As you can see my soldiers are staring straight at it but cant see anything there, the terrain wasnt revealed no matter how close they got. This was on a night mission.

I get frequent crashes to desktop if i rapidly double click the red x top right to close the inventory menu when on the battlescape. Have started new games, reloaded past games, restarted xenonauts and it is reproducable. Is this happening for anyone else?

Not sure if this is intended behaviour but it does seem wrong for terrified unarmed civilians to charge into the alien vessel. And just when i had all my soldiers lined up and ready to breach too!

So on my first mission i open a door to an arctic base, go inside, see an alien and run like a little girl back outside. Next turn i get to have a shot at the alien through the open doorway. Well just my luck I hit the doorframe which had a 10% block chance for the rest of the game none of my soldiers could progress through that door.

yep, should definately have a popup of some kind "cannot change weapons at this time, aircraft being repaired" rather than just nothing happening.

no worries... it is a bit of a pain searching for ufo on youtube --> conspiracy vids galore!

Its already been made
of course the movie is just a shortened version of the tv show...

yeah true, whilst the fights go too quickly to control in real time it does seem to take an age to get in range and after you've won your planes mill about for quite a while so a speed up would be good too. Speed controls for air combat please! :-)

The only thing in the game that i currently dislike is the air combat. Dont get me wrong, I actually LIKE the tactical elements and its mechanics and love the oldskool radar look of it. In fact 1 on 1 it works fine but i loath the PAUSE SPAMMING you need to do when there are multiple aircraft :-/ And auto resolve drives me nuts too, battles that i 100% win manually are sometimes losses, and it just seems odd when you put 3 planes against 1 enemy and autoresolve makes them all come out partially damaged when you know you will have 1 plane massively damaged and the other 2 unscratched if you fought the battle manually. It is also sometimes difficult to rapidly tell which box on the right corresponds to which aircraft, perhaps this could be made clearer with easier to see tags on the aircraft or 3 different colours but thats another issue.
My idea is to have a slow mode, maybe even a few so you could have air battles go at 1/2 speed, 1/4 speed, 1/8 speed, whatever ratio works. This allows the battle to "flow" whilst giving you time to control multiple aircraft and avoids the god-damn pause spamming. Of couse still having a pause button would allow both types of play to exist, im not suggesting its complete removal just options to slow the combat speed down for those busy fights.
P.S. everything else in this game rocks! bugs are being squished and the gameplay gets better and better each build. Cheers & thanks for listening.

actually in the original game you could look out of the forward cockpit windows by rotating your soldiers, but were still blind at the sides. hey at least we dont have to smoke the ramp just to get outta the chopper! damn that was frustrating.
-
i use to avoid night missions, now i dont even bother checking, just chuck flares everywhere and you'll be fine. oh and for that suspected alien out of flare range, rocket spam >;-)
-
that actually is very sweet! cheers.

Good to hear GizmoGomez, & cheers for the link maackey, those icons will do nicely in the meantime
EDIT: oh wow, just drop icons in the role folder and its right to go... soooo easy to MOD! might have to make some of my own

We can have 12 custom roles but there are only 6 letters, would be good if we had 6 more letters. An M for MG or medic would be good. It really doesnt matter what they are. Cheers.

Good to see Tassie included now!

yep, used a bunch of c4 in a base mission... not one door blown by it
