But then you have to sift through hundreds of those nude mods and other crap to find the good ones.

I finished the first game and gave up on the second during a cruise ship mission.
Well have to give apocalypse a go after seeing all the accolades given here.
Oh if anyone's planning on another run of the first x-com game, hit up openxcom. Provides a much needed bug and interface fixes.

I grenaded the first barricades in the UFO and then closed the door. After the grenade explosion I noticed I could see some of the props with the door closed.
Screenshot and game save attached.

Thanks guys; it means a lot
For the modders; almost every aspect of the AI can be adjusted to better fit behavior you want through the weights in AIProps.xml. I've primarily spent time in fixing bugs and adding in new behavior, so there is still a lot to be gained in tweaking those weights.
Once the deadline of the release is over, I'll try to get some blog posts up explaining everything. (If I manage to find the time )
Looking forward to the said article!

It's not a bad game at all.
The very limited personnel provides quite a change in pace.

It's only nine something in the morning for them!

Two crashes so far in ground combat.
Happened when my soldier or the alien attempt a burst fire from the assault rifles.

Menu looks fine on my end. And running at 1680x1050.

Would also be nice if the soldier role symbol is displayed somewhere on the portrait.
I know you can mouse over the health/TU/morale bars but that is not anywhere as convenient, especially if I start to use larger squads.

You reminded me of the article on FEAR's excellent AI.

Makes me think of that iconic moment from the Vietnam War.

I still play the original from time to time. The atmosphere and the type of graphics that forces imagination entices me. And of course the loud sound effects, the footsteps in the distance and a distant door creeking.
The thing that bugs me the most is the interface. An accidental click on an empty floor caused casualties.

Be very interesting if some scripted event forces you to choose between the Warsaw pact or NATO. Either that or maybe one side gets peeved off at the perceived bias in the coverage of the globe.

It must feel good to get that patch of trouble out of the way.
Any others out there?

Yes it does have the same map.
I am not sure about how random the placement of the enemy troops are.
