Holy necro!

Wasn't there a multiplayer mod for the original XCom that included strategy game for the aliens as well? Can't remember what it was called though.
UFO: The two Sides.
Think it was canned for legal issues.

I usually go noisy on most missions.
You just have to be sure to not to start a fight with a large mob of them and to knock out the people calling for reinforcements.
Just have to be smart about when and where you start the fights.

The original game must had been a great learning experience for all that is involved.
Glad it's also successful enough that you're all able to move onto greater things.
-
Thanks for a good read Chris.
I'm hoping the sale figures are sufficient for all your trials and troubles.

Right click game in library, then properties. Go local files tab and you find 'browse local files'
-
No you don't have to hunt down every alien.
Just occupy the cleared UFO for five turns. Should be on the briefing screen.
-
Thanks for writing it up.
I learnt a few things.

Don't know why, but found that image okay. Still have all the distant sound effects and a glimpse if they wander into your line of sight.
The launch interceptor button is near the top of the screen , middle right. Harder to spot since it didn't look like a button at first glance.
Glad you're enjoying it.

Click to confirm and ask the keyboard shortcuts added a while new lease to life on the old classic. Love the 2x scale option.

There used to be a bug where in every game, John Earles is part of the starting line up. He also dies early on as well.
-
At least you're a good sport about it.

Try finding it in this folder
\Steam\SteamApps\common\Xenonauts\assets\ui_screens

Another from Metal Gear series.

In other words:
Xenonauts runs on the engine that brought you Diner Dash of all things...
I wonder was going through the mind of the first programmer.

Maybe alt control delete and launch task manager and shut down xenonauts in the processes tab. Get that donations if it did not shut down properly.

usb and bluetooth keyboards just take away from the portability factor.
seriously though, there are buttons for every other function, why not a system menu in geoscape and ground battles, and a pause button in the air battles... theres tons of room in the ui layout.
Has been answered.
I'm truly blown away someone would try to place a game like this from a tablet. But more to the point "shouldn't be too difficult" is entirely wrong. I am not saying this in a derogatory way but you obviously don't know what goes into design/modelling/drawing/implementing/bugtesting. It's a long process, and this game is for "PC" not tablet.
I mean, if you can make it work more power to you but as far as I know the game was never intended to be played the way you're trying to...

My main problem in the firaxis game is the limitations they put on you presumably to balance the game. I could not go through another play through because I keep on thinking 'why can't they have more than one dropship? Only a squad of six km etc etc'.
Xenonauts may seem a bit more intimidating at first due to lack of hand holding but offers you much more freedom to do things your way.
Another thing to note is that you can't use psionics.
-
Just get a Bluetooth keyboard. You will find it very handy for other stuff down the track.
-
In the original game you can use that exploit to ignore the political part of the game entirely.
-
Pretty much. Suppression and stun is the way to go if you do not want to be chewed up by reaction fire.
-
Started a PayPal account when you guys first put up images at moddb. Regretted that I did not follow the development process until near the end. Glad you made your dream come true.

Congratulations to all!
New to the Game! Does it have any devices to track or sense enemy movement???

If you never seen aliens use cover before, one has to wonder how long you been playing or even if you played it at all.
