  1. Totalbiscuit is by far the best reviewer online. Love that guy. His lets plays (WTF is series) are very informative and funny as he..

AND my god that guy has sold millions of gamecopies on behalf of devs. I have bought 10+ games just from his WTF is series and now devs send him beta and gold versions of their games begging him to do a WTF is of the game.

Chris should contact him if he hasn't done so already.

  2. Sure, buy the game on steam (you get early access) and test away :D

The game is close to hit beta, that means most features are in. Now its mostly balancing, tweaking and such remaining.

replacing placeholders with final arts. updating and improving UI and such.

  3. My main group of soldiers are about 122 TUs (which appears to be the maximum) and I only have a 95% chance of hitting an alien with them when I am standing right next to them and I use a single shot with the maximum available TUs.

BTW, how do you choose what kind of shot to take? Like snap, aimed ? Does it autoselect depending on available TU's or can I choose myself like I did in X-com? All I have found is single or burst. Haven't figured out how to make a aimed shot.

  4. I have already stated my plans for it.

Less armor piercing, heavy, brutal damage, less accuracy (Its reliability was caused by it giving its components tremendous amounts of freedom,) even less accuracy bursting, but abnormally fast to aim bursts, in a slightly heavier then normal package.

Your plans for a mod yes, but I'm thinking of what the devs will do with the vanilla version of the game.

  5. If anything I'd rather keep the M16s since the AKs have to be balanced in some way (ie. more damage and ammo cap. in the magazine than the M16 but less accurate).

I would think this will happen before the game goes gold. The AK-47 use 7.62 ammo vs the M16's 5.56 , so the AK does more damage but it also kicks back harder, so in burst it's alot less accurate than the M16.

  6. It's too late for doing it yourself, that opportunity ended with the Steam release. If you ask nicely, Chris might make an exception, since you did preorder it before hand. However, you didn't register on the forums and claim it, so it could go either way, I guess.

To be honest I totally forgot about the game until I got a e-mail with the steam key. Everytime I tried to download from Desura the download was corrupted and failed install. So I was never able to play it until it hit steam. I might send Chris a mail about it.

    Thanks

  7. 7: Is the Xenonauts organisation a United Nation sanctioned organisation created by the Nations of earth to combat the threat? My impression was it was more like a private company offering it's services. If the latter I don't think the nations would throw vast amounts of resources your way as they would likely think they could do a much better job themself.

But as you prove your worth they give you more.

8: I think it scaled too fast in difficulty. By start of October they send squadrons I can't take out with 2 F-17's + a Mig 32. Maybe I had less resources than I could have had due to shooting down some ufo's over sea in september as well as some I shot down over land left no crashsite.

Start of October I had only done 4 groundmissions, and in my first encounter with a alien fleet I lost both condors and almost lost my MiG aswell with not enough money to replace both Codors. Felt like game over to me :)

But I will start over and see if I'm better prepaired for October in my next game.

BTW: Love the game so far, think it will be awesome when it goes gold.

  8. About the funding.. Is the Xenonauts organisation some United Nations sanctioned thing, or isn't more like a private organisation asking for funding?

I don't think the United States (and other nations) would just throw money after me if I started a company like that to combat alien invaders. In the beginning they would most likely think they could do a much better job themself. But as the company proves it's worth the nations would give you more.
