  1. I would actually support a penalty in accuracy for any soldier trying to shoot an alien or any tile that he does not have Direct Line of Sight

Because that's basically shooting blind even if there was a man on the radio trying to tell you where to aim your crosshairs, because it would still be nowhere near as accurate if you actually had line of sight.

It would discourage the player from sending a scout to spot aliens, then run into cover and he has a whole squad far back out of visual range of the alien, acting as Indirect Fire Support.

  2. I have recently started playing the beta, briefly 18.3 now 18.5, and whether it is bug or intended on crash sites most of the remaining aliens will run out of the crashed UFO into the open when my troops approach the UFO.

Now when I play the original xcom I have many fond memories of having to plan how to breach the ufos knowing aliens

were hiding inside waiting for me

I would have troops do stackups on the doors and use grenades of different kinds before rushing into the ufo; it was for me one of the tense moments on every ufo mission because of how dangerous entering them was.

Now after awhile I did learn that if you waited long enough the game let the aliens see you and they would come running out the door which could be easily exploited.

But I was just thinking it might be worth looking into maybe having some aliens stay inside and hide behind cover and

    just plan to ambush you.

Currently in this build they ether run out at you or they sit at the end of the ufo in the open staring at the door or even worse staring at the other door.

I just want xenonauts to have fun but challenging UFO entries.

Note I have only played a month and a half into my current game so I have not gotten to the bigger ufos.

  3. I am about a month into my game and I have sent my only hunter scout on most of them, recording I am guessing atleast 10 kills, averages 2 kills a mission.

anway I just checked my garage and noticed it has this scout car as having no missions or kills.

Also when it is the only vehicle, when you press the arrows to switch vehicles, the buttons turn bright gray.

  4. I have played around 12 missions I believe and only lost 2 troopers to aliens due to how poor their AI is right now.

original Xcom AI still feels a lot better and a lot more deadly.

They try to shoot through walls and buildings

they were trying to shoot through their own UFO door on one mission

I had one occasion where I had a hunter scout parked 10 tiles away from a alien and he stayed in cover and instead of shooting at the tank, he kept shooting at a random Civ 15 tiles away right past the tank. I guess he saw the unarmed civ a higher threat then the hunter.

Also I have noticed many bullet animations not correct, bullets not coming from the guns but their chests, a police officer on the industrial map I believe.

  5. After getting my first taste of the game yesterday I noticed that I could carry a lot of spare clips but never needed them,

I almost feel this can partially be blamed on soldiers being to accurate, never wasting shots or firing extra rounds into the enemies, killing enemies outright instead of suppressing, I remember in jagged alliance I would burn through ammo, firing many bursts at long ranges but I don't seem to have that problem so far in this game,

But if you can increase ammo usage you increase clips being used and needing to be brought, instead of just nerfing the max capacity of the mags themselves.

Just my 2 cents, great game BTW really enjoying.

  6. I finally I pre-ordered,

    Just wanted to introduce myself

I have been watching this project developed since last year and have been following closely, and finally decided it was time to get involved, play some and support it,

I have played all the xcoms expect terror from the deep, as much as I enjoyed the new game from fraxis I just felt it accomplished what it was trying for, a easier, linear experience for 60$, I am really hoping this game Chris has put together has just a fraction of the original xcoms depth that I enjoyed so much for well over 200 hours.

    Take care all.
