  1. Ok, I know anything multiplayer is exceedingly unlikely to happen, but this sort of thing would make me giddy, so I thought I'd throw it out here anyways. It would probably make a good DLC.

There could be a coop game mode kindof like DoW2's Last Stand - each player has their soldier (or perhaps 2 or 3). Before the game they're outfitted/stats are selected, and the players are bit against wave after wave of increasing strength. Continuity/progression on your characters would be nice, but I'm not sure how that would be balanced so that newer players aren't uselessly inferior.

Or perhaps it could work such that the coop takes place on community created maps, which can have set objectives, or just the above wave spawning.

  2. For the ammo used by higher-tech weapons (lasers and plasma - I'm assuming that's all there is, don't correct me if I'm wrong. :) ) - does ammo use up alenium? In the deployment screen there's infinite ammo, but some of the xenopedia entries hint that they do. The alenium research talks about managing it carefully, and I believe the laser weaponry research says something about recharging it at the base with alenium. With the lack of tooltips anywhere (especially with production costs) it's hard to tell where all of my stocks are going.

I really don't like the idea of needing to worry about running out of alenium just because I want to shoot my weapons.

  3. Following a rather buggy base defense (I will post the bug report for that soon), I immediately had to redeploy for a terror mission - only problem is 5/8 of my slots on my dropship (the first one) were unusable - five soldiers had been assigned to it during the base defense, were injured (such that their name is now in red). As they are "assigned" to resting, I can't unassign them from Charlie-1, but nor can I assign anyone else to it. It's a bit game breaking.

I've had injuries before, and never had this happen. I suspect it's something to do with being injured -during- a base defense.

I have saves before the landing and a couple during the defense itself, if that would prove useful in troubleshooting/recreating.

  4. Panic was a mechanic that really annoyed me from XCOM. I like it, but I feel like there should be a strong weight towards actions that are vaguely productive, like running to the dropship, hiding, shooting wildly into the general area of the aliens - I'm not opposed to it being possible from them to hit teammates (especially in such a situation as was mentioned earlier, where they shoot what they see moving) but in original XCOM it seemed the only thing that ever happened to me was they unload on their teammates.
