  1. Thats what i said, it depends alot on how the game is made.

As i said it depends on how you want the MP mode to be and aswell depends on the structure of the game and how its made already.

But still a working multiplayer wouldnt take the same time as the SP does.

There are many possibilities and ways to change a only sp game into a working mp game.

Much ways are extremely much work and others are not so much. Depends again on how you want todo it. =)

The Developers know the best if its possible at all cause they know how there game is made :D

"Cost and all stuff will be the major problem"

If Chris says he cant do it for Xenonauts i believe him.

And Chris you got a PM.

  2. Aliens should react on sight only:

The way I see it : Alien see where you landed. So they know where you are. On the battlefield, they act like the player, when 1 of your soldier spot an alien, all the other know the location of that alien. But I agree with you that if they have not seen you at all, they should not know where you are.

And thats the point, the npc`s actually do know where you are, you can easily see it if you flank your enemy. Aliens just see your first Squad and logically looking into that direction. If you flank this aliens with the second Squad and they cant see them (for example flank trough a building or on a wall) and they come more near then first squad then the aliens just simply watch directly in the direction where the near enemy is.

    Local Forces :

Soldiers/policeman are not trained like your soldiers. I like the way they are except that they should be more defensive and avoid been caught between you and the alien.

Yes but they shouldnt stay in the middle of nowhere, atleast they are soldiers so they should know that cover is important and aswell they are soldiers like your beginning soldiers too.

    Civilians :

I think they should act very randomly. Running away from the closest alien and trying to take cover. Or panicking and doing a random move. Civilians are not trained to react well under fire...

Well but a civilian wouldnt stay in middle of nowhere or simply run into aliens. Aswell most civilians would run into cover "atleast in RL".

So our thinkings are not that far away =)

  3. Yeah as i said already it looks like CTD and Freeze happens under different circumstances not only with 1.

This bug doesnt even need a savegame, im curious why devs/testers cant reproduce this bug, its happening everytime =)

I explained it in my last post how it happens on my PC :

If i click onto specific soldiers on 1680*1050 the game does freeze. If i do the same in 1440x900 it doesnt freeze.

The only freeze which happens on every resolution for me is the "change role, set equipment as default" bug.

That means i can play smoothly without any crashes or freezes with "1440x900" the whole time if i dont use the "change role/set as default" feature and can click trough all my soldiers and equip them manually.

If i click trough my soldiers with 1680*1050 resolution = freeze everytime.

Im pretty sure it will be fixed soon =)

  4. Disagree.

It takes me 30 sec to test it : put on 1600/900 ; do the process (change rifle role on a soldier and click on it or somewhere else) and it crashes.

It's impatced by screen res (easier to have it on high res then on low one) but you have the bug on EVERY res.

    Disagree =)

If i click onto specific soldiers on 1680*1050 the game does freeze. If i do the same in 1440x900 it doesnt freeze.

The only freeze which happens on every resolution for me is the "change role, set equipment as default" bug.

  5. This would be awesome. I dont think its extremely much work cause after the game is finished the most work is done already. I know much Indie Games which had only a SP mode and switched their mind and developed multiplayer after SP cause there was so much demand for MP and this games had much more work to do then this game would.

Compared to other games which added mp (which was much harder cause another type of games) :

    - This game doesnt need much change of the AI cause the AI wont fight against 2 Players like it does in other games if you add MP.

Well i hope you get what i mean. 2 players could share all actions, 1 has 5 Soldiers and the other one has 5 Soldiers. So the AI wont be touched or only minimal. And even if you add the possibility that 2 transports "1 for each player" can do a mission site you could

simply double the amount of aliens or make them harder in difficulty. The last action however would increase the development time cause it needs a realtime netcode/changed AI if each player has a base and can control it/money changes etc.

Depends much on how you do the share/instances and possibilities which 2 players can do on the same time.

    - Doesnt need a change in rendering/animations like a FPS would "camera look from 3rd person etc.".

    - Doesnt need a UI change, the 2 players just see 1 shared view and can control them together.

And if 2 players would have each their own base/soldiers/aircraft etc. it would be only a new instance.

    - Doesnt need a change in world structure cause game hasnt multiple locations for cameras and stuff

Well the game would need a good netcode, shared savegames etc. etc.

Its more or less work, it depends on how you want to do it or how you change it to work as a mp game.

Dont get me wrong, its not done in a month or two, but it would be faster done than you think atm.

As i said it depends on how you want the MP mode to be and aswell depends on the structure of the game and how its made already.

PS: and they could sell it as a extension, i would for sure buy it and i think much others aswell ;)

  6. Maybe i explained it wrong.

which in turn means shots that miss are more likely to hit the tile the crouching solider/alien is on, but will never hit the crouching alien/solider. This can also happen to standing soliders, but is less likely to happen, because standing soliders/aliens are much easier to hit.

It happens very often in the actual Version that even standing units get visually hit but the shot doesnt count at all but still causing suppression sometimes. The indicator is that the shot "visually" hits your target perfectly but the ground tile takes damage which looks extremely unrealistic. Thats inacceptable for "me" cause that would mean most of the time units aiming at enemys feet which is unrealistic too. I would prefer if a shot miss "but passes the targets tile" it will still fly and does not end visual on your target and finally technically on ground.

Maybe this Video shows a lil bit, sorry for my bad english.

  7. I know this bug is reported already, maybe this video save some time cause you guys dont need

to play yourself to see this bug...

First i want to say its only my opinion about the actual game state. I copied this Thread aswell to the suggestion area cause its a correlated mixed bug/opinion thread.

    Alien behaviour:

Most aliens do rush your troups now, only a few stay in ship and take cover. Its funny and challenging, but

i would like that there are behaviour classes for aliens.

    Example (Random behaviour with percentage):

    - 30-50% chance that aliens are offensive (rushing aliens, aggressive and flank tactics)

    - 10-30% chance that aliens are defensive (defensive aliens)

    - rest mixed (they just switch betweend defensive and offensive behaviour)

Aliens should react on sight only:

I also still hate that aliens do everytime know where you are, they always look towards the nearest soldier even if they didnt seen em. Aswell they just rush directly towards your troops while they didnt seen your troops before, thats pretty unrealistic. Especially Wraiths (teleport aliens) are totally overpowered now, they just teleport directly in or behind your troups and killing anyone, i dont think its fun at all that they can teleport right into your troups and kill them easily (even Wolf Armour doesnt help if one teleports right near you and shoots you). If you dont want to delete that teleport ability then i suggest that they get less hp and smaller weaponry "pistols" instead of blaster and rifles which kills your troups quite easily. Or maybe set their AP`s to 0 or to a smaller amount after teleport that they cant shoot at you or atleast not 2-3times like now.

    - Chrysallids have too much AP`s

    - Androns take cover while description says they dont, making them extremely

powerfull cause they hit very often and hard

    - Too much camping aliens in commander room in alien bases "8 Androns easily crush your troups"

Maybe be set a maximum? "4 aliens" + "commander"

    Geoscape:

    - I like they new feature "Airstrike" but it gives you not enough money, doing a crashsite "Large ship for example - normal difficulty" gives you around 190k cash or even more (had one time 240k) + relations + soldier improvement + alien technology + monthly cash income while airstrike gives you only 80k cash.

Airstrike should aswell give you a little bit +relations and +monthly cash income and a bit more instant cash cause you prevented that this alien ship does attack the country/navy ships etc. etc.

    Local Forces:

    - Very weak

    - Very inaccurate

    - Dont react realistic, they mostly sit on same position (not even in cover) and if they move then they move

    to a stupid position.

In my opinion they should move into corners or atleast into cover cause they are scared but not dumb,

aswell a bit more accuracy so that the situation looks more fun and realistic.

    Civilians:

    - React very stupid too, mostly sit in open fields not taking cover at all

    - Should move towards xenonauts and running away from aliens in a intelligence way "a civilist would run into cover or towards/behind friendly forces and stay then.

    Ground Battle:

    - Many shots dont count even if they visually hit

    - Many shots hit visually but end in a "ground hit" animation

    - Suppressed aliens or crouching ones are extremely hard to hit even if they

hit visual. You can shoot them while you are directly near them and still dont hit most time.

    - Faster animations "shooting -moving" would make the game look much more nice.

  9. /edit : it has nothing to do with screen resolution, i can reproduce on every res. (but the highest the res is the more often happen the bug)

The point is when you change a soldier role to rifle and click on rifle icon afterwards, you got a crash.

If you don't, then click on another soldier and go back to the changed to rifle guy.

    Same bug as http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php/8026-v20-3-Another-CTD-in-EQUIP-screen .

Well, if i change my Resolution to 1680*1050 "normally my standard res" then i get a freeze if i click on specific chars. If i play in 1440x900 it works... As far as i remember the devs changed some pictures from soldiers, maybe the images dont scale correctly with some resolutions and cause problems?

  10. I think it has nothing to do with Missions cause the Problem still exists after the first Mission on my PC. Everytime i click on specific Characters in the Equipment screen the game does freeze.

Game does freeze aswell if you click the Equipment screen while your dropship is still flying.

    Windows 8.1 - 64bit

    Phenom II X6 1090T

    ATI HD 5850

    1680x1050

PS: I`ve experimented with a new fresh game now and it looks like it depends on the chars.

I can click on all my soldiers in my savegame expect for these specific ones :

    - Jane Holmes - Rifleman

    - David Stopple - Assault

    - Maria Perez - Heavy

    One more time PS:

If i do the same explained above in smaller resolutions it works oO

  11. - Grenade Bug can be seen in this video.

Happens aswell in the standalone version.

    - Both versions :

If you throw a grenade "and there is an obstacle between you and the place you are throwing it" then it will always land on the obstacle "for example a little stone where you can cover behind".

    - Both versions : No music if you load a ground battle from the main menu.

    - Standalone Version : Sometimes have an immediate crash after a ground battle, without any error displayed. This is different than the one in the Desura version.

    - Both Versions : Local forces shoot stunned aliens which sometimes results in civilians and Xenonaut soldiers also being hit.

    - Both Versions : Aliens/Civilians/Local forces stuck sometimes or spawn in obstacles.

Sometimes if you aim at them the aim picture showing up on another location this time

shows up on a civilian in the corner of the map "see picture".

    - Both Versions : Aliens appear to always face the direction of the nearest enemy. This makes it often impossible to flank them because of reaction fire. If you see them moving away they are always facing back towards you, even if they faced a different direction to begin with.

    - Both Versions : Reaction fire from Xenonaut soldiers and some fire from aliens occurs behind the "Hidden Movement" screen, which I think should be visible.

    - Both Versions : One Chryssalid "dunno how they are named in Xenonauts" moved through a wall while beeing surrounded.

See picture, sadly had no fraps on while it happened.

    __________________________________________________________________________

Some people wrote they have no crashes in standalone version. Maybe its system related?

    My system:

    Windows 7 64bit Enterprise Edition

    AMD Phenom II X4 965

    Mainboard ASUS M4A88TD-V "EVO/USB3"

    4 GB DDR3 9/9/9/24

    ATI Radeon HD5850 1GB GDDR5

    Suggestion :

The soldier screen where you equip your troops is a great improvement compared to the old XCOM EU. However, I find that double-clicking or dragging to equip stuff still annoys me. It would be simpler if you made a little equip button along with a little "x" for getting rid of equipped stuff and clear button which clears the currently equipped items. See images below

    Nice to know

english is really bad/good or horrible. Tell me that per PM please.

    Big thanks to
