Could be corrupt files

May have to download again. (you would not be the first person to get some bad files from desura Lol)

Did you download the standalone version or let desuar install it for you?

If desura install you can use desura interface to verify the files.

Also what version of Windows are you using? In case your files are good, the developers might find the info useful.

Thanks. I will delete all the old files out of my Desura folder. Hopefully that will force it download the latest version

Update. This worked. Launcher reads as V17 now

[[v15 - Ground Combat] Troops won't deploy out the back of the Chinook]

This may to be re-occurring in V16.5. Chinook exit was facing east. could only get 3 soldiers out the side doors. 5 were left if the chinook (no vechile on this mission, didn't have the money to buy one for my new base :-) )

[[V16 - Ground Combat] Dead alien standing]

I have noticed it occurs when the subject is not killed by an xcom soldier. I have had dead aliens/civilians/xcom soldiers still standing if they were killed by an alien/civilian or during when the ufo crashed. (did not have to occur during hidden movement)

I am using v16.5 and have been able to hire soldiers, as long as I am not hiring scientents or tech's at the same time. Just to be safe I waited until the sci/techs arrived before hiring the soldiers

So far I have been on 5 missions with farm maps. No crashes. but since farmer with shotgun still invisible cant tell if he has tried vaulting.

Update. on 6th Farm map mission. Crash to desktop as someone invisible was moving. (had just gone into shadow so cannot tell if the inv person would have been vaulting.

Were the UFOs Severely Damaged? (tells you at the screen right before ground combat starts) I don't get alloy from those. but still get them from Minor or Undamaged ships

[V16.1 Crash on farm map]

am using Chis's patch V16.2 and followed both suggestions Chris posted. Still getting crashes on Farm. (Grounded/undamaged light scout with ceasan aliens. Not getting a crash dump. Best I can do if needed is send the autosave that occurs right before ground combat begins

Ended up re-downloading V15.1 and got back to Wolf Armour. Working ok now, so I guess it was a corrupted file.

I just watched a civilian run through fire.

Repeatedly.

Until he died.

It was an enriching experience.

I had something similar happen in my game. One of the aliens just stood in the doorway of the UFO's engine room while it was burning for a few turns until he died. You could hear him humming the tune to "Burning down the House" the whole time.

Honestly though I have seen plenty of articles in the newspaper about people doing crazy things in the heat of the moment, so if I was one of the developers I would not break a sweat trying to fix this action.

will wait for V16 to re-download. Hopefully will be ready soon. have had save issues already mentioned on the forum. so lost all my saved games LOL. and would have to start over to get back to wolf armour.

could not find this posted anywhere. When my soldiers are in ground combat and wearing Wolf Armour they cannot see past one tile. Ferret vechile cone/range of view working correctly in same ground combat. V15.1. also when soldiers are wearing jackal armour they also work fine.
