I've had this several times and it always results in a CTD, haven't noticed any reason why, a fight that crashed may work if you reload the game.

Terror mission in South America.

Multiple aliens with missing sprites/models(a few worked), some had shadows and some did not.

A few turns in, the game crashes, tried multiple times.

CTD when trying to enter Soviet Crash site as well, my first crash site in v15 so haven't tried it in any other locations.

It might be a nice addition, but it should be very limited, the last thing I want is to have the AI win the mission because of a farmer getting some lucky shots.

[V14.1 Crashing every battle]

I also have a problem where I will crash every or every other battle. If I don't crash and exit the game I can usually not use the latest save as it will cause a CTD every time I try to load it.

I have started a new game where I will crash constantly as well.

The game worked a lot better for me the first few days and gotten worse over time. (No change in version)

Regarding hidden movement I would rather it wouldn't be fullscreen, or just outright having the choice to not have it (And camera not following enemy movement as it currently does). I find it extremely annoying having my soldiers killed during Hidden movement without seeing what is going on, even if I can't see the enemy I should be able to see the shot coming at him.
