A lot of items have type "passable" where they should not. Most of cars. Some chinook parts, etc.
To be more precise they have walltype="none" parameter set, when it should be "tall".
You can fix it manually in xml files.
One car red_van_NE, i think it was, has wrong PNG also. It is original model file 2000x2000, but game only accepts 200x200 versions.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 also and can give it a try.

It is timing issue. I got two battles at the same time with 2 ufo squads and 1 my squad. Terribly annoying

I agree that this is "nice-to-have" thing. One that should be done if, and only if, it is easy thing to do. Otherwise core features, UI and stability are much more important.

In order to make the world more of a 'living' thing would it be possible to make the cities light up in the "night".
It would be best if it would fade in and fade out according to time
It would only need to be somewhat visible, not to interfere with UI, but just enough to make it feel that something changes.
And possibly scale with years and population increase, unless aliens kill too many humans.
If it is not possible for release, could it be a mod?

Click on a keybinding : it is set to "???"
Click on another keybinding : it is set to "???"
Move mouse pointer to the previous keybinding : that is also highlighed now
press any key to set bind it to some hotkey.
=> Both hotkeys have now the pressed key mapped.

Binding 4 keys to E and pressing it again gives the "game over" screen, even though
no actual game has been started.

After unbinding several keys (leave them to "???") and exiting the option screen the game crashed.
1st) with pressing "esc" four times in a row.
2nd) by pressing "esc" and 3x esc (more slowly) then trying to enter "options" again

It seems to regarding soldiers. Comparing the savegames binary data gives biggest differences in soldiers section.
Don't know if new "pool" of recruits is done for new month? Or some other handling is not done properly.
I guess there is nothing we can do about it, at least not easily.
