I haven't looked at the current editor yet but I have no doubt it's far easier to use than the ones that came with games I've worked with in the past. I'm not concerned with a lack of maps because if there aren't enough to suit me while playing I'll make them myself and upload them as well.
You probably should take a look at them first, then.
The level editor is "decent", but the submap editor is something else entirely.

Think that one has less floorspace than the Large Scout in EU
Even the aliens have to downsize due the the economy!

I assume the UFOs will get a lot more interior tiles to them. I haven't seen anything bigger than the larger scout, and even it felt really barren. That one is just sad.

Yes - the result; But where is the poll? I have never seen it and have never had a chance to vote..
The poll has been closed for almost 12 hours now. It was capped at 1100 answers. Was linked in the kickstarter update #4.

Air combat isn't 100% ready yet, nor very polished. So, normal at this phase of the game.

Retrieving information could easily be 'prevent aliens from getting their hands on information' to be more themey. Have them tucked in some building and the 'nauts could burn them or something.
Landmark could be a key infrastructural building. Like a hospital with lots of civilians inside. Or a backup generator attached to the said hospital. Certain types of factories could also be really important, like weapons/munitions factories. Or oil refineries/silos. And power plants.

I guess it's the 6 other topics on it that have been created on the subject last 3 days.

Not if that gear has been reassigned to someone else because you only have a finit number of laser weapons and hightech armours.
Sure, that's an exception, but it happens with the stuff you have an infinite amount of as well. There's no reason why they couldn't grab another Assault rifle on their own.

If intended, it really shouldn't be. More of an annoyance than anything realism enhancing.
I mean yeah sure, you don't wear armor while half dead on a hospital bed, but you'd usually put your gear back on after being released.

Another thing I noticed is that we can get the laser weapons and advanced armor really early in the game (too quickly)... I mean, it should take longer to get better equipment.
Compared to the "original", not really. Lasers could be researched right away in EU (it wasn't impossible to have troops with Laser Rifles before downing your first UFO), and the armor required only Alien Alloys to be researched (which you got from the first downed UFO). There's a lot of hoops to jump through in Xeno, and even then the manufacturing times (5½ days for a single precision laser+battery with 10 engineers in Xeno) are twice as long.
Researching the actual items is bit too fast, tho. The 10 scientists can churn out all the projects rather quick.
But thenagain, it's an alpha that hasn't been balanced ~at all yet.

I guess a more important question is "why are civilians AI as sucky as the original X-com's civilian AI".
Because the AI, much like the rest of the game, isn't ready yet. The militia doesn't move at all, the civvies run around randomly, and the aliens themselves aren't much smarter. It'll get better.
What is your opinion about this music type genre for Xenonauts?

Infected Mushroom, apparently. I had the latest album playing on the background when I was showing the demo around to my buddy, and he commented that the music was really great and fit the game well.
