I thought the invisibility might be a feature, since a mind control was attempted immediately before. All I could see was that he had a red head, don't think it's the Leader since he wasn't in the command center. Since this was so unusual, we tried to beat him down with batons, game CTD.
Correction: it was the Leader.

I can't find the range for Psionic attacks in aiprops.xml, pretty sure it's not called "range" anyway. Can somebody please spell out the syntax for me?

There is a button in 1.13 which tells you where the enemy sees. I don't remember which button it was but it showed the tiles enemy can see clearly as green, tiles behind a cover as yellow and tiles the enemy can't see as red. Or something like that.
Nah, don't use that. Original game never had it. You should be able to figure it out.
I don't remember tanks being such a big deal. Mortars let you attack with no LOS, and mortars and LAWs were always pretty much one hit/one kill iirc.

Ahhh, that sounds like an intelligent way to do it. I like it, even if it has a few flaws.

late January: 0 base assaults, 3 alien bases, 0 terror sites
I'm playing my first playthrough on Easy and I've got 3 terror attacks and 2 bases.Dammit, MKDELTA! Should I be playing on Easy in order to get those sweet sweet terror missions?

Yeah I don't think there is need to blame AI for it...
If you're not going to blame the game AI for its grenade throwing behavior, what exactly are you going to blame?

Should I start building Corsairs, or try to hold out for next model? Same question for F-17s.
-
ie. I wouldn't have to replace my Foxtrots having researched the Corsair. Wha' happen?
Also, do I get a refund if I decommission planes?

I created a YouTube channel for the animal animations I created for Dead State. Dog hasn't been released yet.

I never played original X-com, but Jagged Alliance 2 has always been my favorite strategy game. Xenonauts definitely pushes a lot of the same buttons. I also enjoyed XCOM, but to me that's still the Fisher-Price version of X-com.

Will Desura ever get updates, or just full-size versions?
-
I captured an officer last night, no problem. I didn't shoot him up first though! Stun grenades are primarily useful as suppressors, not to knock them out (that would be too easy), and the big lizardmen are just generally hardier.

Do I just reinstall over the existing version? I definitely want to keep playing my v1.0 campaign.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't want that to sound disrespectful. Good luck with the book!
No worries mate! No disrespect inferred. It is a pseudonym, yes.

It's a hell of a deal for what you get IMO. I think you could have charged $30 easily.
Price points are a funny thing. Personally I think Chris will make more money charging $20 than $30. Lots of indie devs get emotionally attached to their games, instead of thinking about the big picture, and charge too much.

You mean you are Scott Jaeger?
I don't want to shock anyone, but... yes, my name isn't really 'screeg'.

40 hours of gameplay from Xenonauts? I get that in two days
Maybe I'm biased, but I feel like people who enjoy this type of game are not going to put it down after 40 hours. There is nothing out there right now that feels like Xenonauts.
-
I never have. I just launch when the threat arises.

I never use Steam. I'm playing v1.0 right now from Desura. The game's complete, it runs great though I wouldn't recommend Iron Man because of rare (less than once a session for me) crashes. Chris says post version 1, savegames will continue to work with updates, so when it Desura does update, you can keep playing.

first base also: 2 living spaces, radar, 2 workshops, 2 laboratories and all the rest fill with hangars
No missile batteries? And a second radar increases your radius of detection, right?
-
No, sadly, you can't. Although I'm suddenly taken by the idea of you being able to hire civilians you encounter in ground missions Men In Black style. It might give you an incentive to try and save them, then!
Especially if the civilians were like the MERC discount mercenaries from Jagged Alliance 2, basically incompetent.

I was off playing Xenonauts for several months while waiting for the 1.0 release, then started up a game late the other night. Seems too easy, promotions are coming thick and fast and enemies aren't doing interrupt attacks. Now I'm asking myself if I chose Normal or Veteran when I started.
did mind controlled units firing during same turn get fixed after 1.07?

Because it is straight-up BS. Even units whose AP are all used up suddenly are replenished and going on a rampage. There's no defense against it.
At the least they shouldn't get magic AP and not be able to act aggressively (even if they do move).
