    Just wanted to point out that to put up an informative video it would be good to have as much information as possible.

  3. I don't think noIdidnt assumed you would lose your soldiers on the mission, just saying that he doesnt like the idea. As i read it if given an unwinnable scenario he as a hypothetical commander wouldn't send his soldiers in there in the first place.

    yep! you are right about the way i meant it Gorlom, if a battle is unwinnable in a terror mission i see only three outcomes possible.

    the aliens kill the civs. becouse you dont send troops.

    the aliens kill the civs and your troops becouse its unwinnable.

    the aliens leave the battle becouse they have had to many losses or done enough damage. this is where i have a problem, first as far as i have seen the aliens dont care about losses as long as they complete their mission, and second their mission isnt complete until all

    civs on the map are dead or transformed into zombies?:D which to me would translate into a complete loss for xenonauts.

    a complete loss for xeno would be a bad rep. hit from the nations.

    In the end the way i see it, the best option for a commander would be to destroy the site with missiles.

    while alot of other Places pronounce X as "Z"(ZZ)

    "ZZ"enonauts

    Really its X's fault for being a strange letter

    not sure but i think Gorlom wasnt refering to the X or Z sound but the XENNOTS to XENONAUTS dif.

    xPDxTV- yea i cant figure out why you have never used the f17s for scouts.

    If you had you would find there is no reason to even change the weapons out on the mig becouse they are useles against the scout compaired to the f17.

    seems to me you have done a little brousing on the forums but i think you need to do a bit more, if you do you will be able to explain what is happening and why a bit better.

    Still, im glad you put Xeno on your page as it will get more visibility in public view. TY for that.:)

    If this was a preview of a complete game i would see no problem going in blind but to go into an alpha build blind just makes it look bad.

    Back to the f17/mig, there are going to be many changes in the starting aircraft in future builds which may even include no mig at the start of the game. who knows for sure right now?

    mabye you could do a bit more reading up on things and do another preview of the v9.1 that is due out in the next day or so? :D

    If i have no hope of winning a battle there is no way i would send in my troops as it would meen they would all end up dead!

    the primary mission of any terror mission would always be to save civs. as the primary mission for the aliens is to destroy/capture/cause fear in the general population.

  7. In my previous post/opinion P-DEX the mig wasnt actually researched, the 1 day research i suggested was into what aircraft were availabe at this time on the planet that could be fitted to be the best heavy weapon aircraft.

    the research would find that the mig was that aircraft,then after you buy one and it is delivered to your base it would need to be armed with those weapons seen as the most powerful. so it would also need time to be rearmed after it gets to base.

    also the mig needs to become available at or very near the time corvett start showing up, not 2 months in to the war.

    cold war erra, yes. nations didnt want to share tech, yes.

    but a common overpowering enemy has a tendency to make common beliefe bend a little bit, no matter how riggid it is.

  8. Well the actual alien technology tiles are recoverable, just like in X-Com. If you go into a UFO blazing away and destroy everything, you won't have an awful lot to recover. But if you capture it intact...

    We've gone further than X-Com in the sense that all the alien tiles have an Alien Alloys and Alenium content, so even destroying relatively pointless parts of the UFO still damages the amount of recoverable materials.

    Does this mean that after we start useing the new scout UFO look that we will see less materials recovered becouse the wings are gone?

    or were the wings and hull ever included in the alien tiles and recoverable materials stated above?

    seems like i remember it being said that the basic ufo structure was going to be indestructable in the ground battles, just wondering if even the indestructable parts drop materials too?

    if thats true then no matter how bad you blow up a ufo in ground battles at leaste you would get something out of it. :)

  9. Yea i think that is normal for now, its just a stage in the game that needs to be ballanced out a bit.

    just keep going and the corvett will start showing up again but with 2 fighter escorts.

    just takes a while to work thru the introduction of the fighters.

    also you better start thinking about sending your dropship out with its own escorts when you start getting ground battles again, the fighters will do anything they can to shoot it down.

    as far as the invisible fighters go, its a known bug. just gotta put up with it until sunday afternoon UK time. :D

  10. the avalanch alone is enough to destroy a scout.

    keep trying with 2 f17s,...oh.. if its in the actual battle where they cant catch the ufo just turn on your afterburners.

    never had a scout outrun a f17 in battle with the afterburners on.

    a scout shouldnt run from 2 f17s anyway.

    yep.

    but if you only disable one missile not one missile/plane the 3 missiles left will down the scout without closing to gun range.
