  1. Xenonauts is already a remake of X-COM Ufo Defense that why I think remake is better. However I have a short story for sequel.

    Have you ever seen post-apocalyptic UFO? I haven't. Post-apocalypse. You're lack of weapons and resources. Most researches are lost. Xenonauts need alien alloys to re-research and produce laser weapons. Everybody hates each other. The only way to win - all people of all kind must unit together against aliens.

  2. There is a pretty cool game named Incubation (1997). I don't remember what exactly each class of aliens do, and I just copy-paste some info from this site (I'm not sure this is a full list of aliens)

    • First aliens used to crawl out from sewers, opened gates or from outside of the map. Bayonets works pretty well against them. (It would be great to add bayonets to assault rifles. What do you think about melee aliens crawling out from sewers?)
    • Long range shooter, he has only two action points, but if he know where you are and can not shoot, he could jump near you which ends his turn.
    • Unbreakable front armor, but unit is very slow and can be easily tricked. (Pretty cool mechanics. You cannot kill them shooting their front armor, but they're easy to kill if you shoot their back)
    • Does not move at all. Shoots position where your soldier started last turn so keep moving. His armor does not allow damaging him when he sleeps, you can only harm it when it shoots. (You cannot stand still all the time, and they cannot be killed if they don't shoot)

    PS: a couple of my ideas

    • Drons with powerfull machineguns (suppress), but with slow turn rate
    • Drons with shield that reflects most of bullets in random (or your) direction (you must use shields and weapon with good armor mitigation). The main idea is to make some weapon useless against some sort of aliens in some situations. I'm not sure it's a very good idea, but an occasion to experiment.
  3. I was playing on ironman difficulty about a week. Today when I quit the game (alt + F4), the game crashed and deleted my only savegame :mad:

    I found the savegame directory. There is the only savegame and the file size is zero bytes.

    It would be great if the game made file backups before start writing them.

    Some other issues:

    * Stun baton's pop-up tooltip says that it takes 20 TU to attack. However in practice it takes 20% TU.

    * Right after completing the land mission and founding a couple of new artefacts, there are some new researches in the base research screen with empty or strange descriptions.

    * It seems that aircraft weapon damage is incorrect in xenopedia.

    * If you throw a smoke grenade and end the turn, some smoke fields disappear. If you reload the auto-saved game after this, smoke fields reappear.
