  1. Yes, thothkins is talking of on Goldhawk's end. But it's wrong, since people with pre-orders aren't supposed to choose a tier and have money substracted from it, rather they are supposed to pledge an amount $20-$30 below the tier they want and say they are pre-orderers as well. At least, that's how I understood it. I forgot to, and I don't want to change my pledge, so can gift one of my keys. :P

  2. I don't rcall anything about the Krogan social life. But I would have expected them to breed through gangbangs. :P Whoevers sperm is the most potent wins :P

Actually, what little fluff I read while playing nr 1 stated that the reason the Krogans were becoming extinct was because they had too little sex, they were all busy fighting. o.0

  3. I look at the chance to get my name put in, and I think "What's the point?" who can I tell since I prefer to go by another name on the forums and people just nod politely whenever I mention X-Com/Xenonauts elsewhere.

I have a lot of gaming friends, and you can be damn sure I'll take a screenshot and /flex a lot.

You can give us your code in the guaranteed "what's your code" thread and then we can play with you...

  4. i think the laser sniper needs to be beefed up a lil, can single shot an alien with the ballistic, but not the laser. WTF?

The precision laser rifle does more damage than the ballistic one, but by the time you get it, you are probably meeting tougher aliens as well. A good indication on the lizard people is how much black armour they are wearing.

  5. Something like this is being discussed in the Geopolitical Mod. And it would have to be in a mod at this point.

The idea is sound, but adding assets like that at this stage of the game would take too long according to Goldhawk. I also surmise that after the MiG you don't use strictly human tech for interceptors or transports any more, as you'll start building some bad ass stuff based on alien tech. :D

  6. I've got to agree with Gauddlike here. It could start out as a fun mechanic, but it might turn quite tedious. And what happens if you order one to move out of line of sight? Or if someone start using them as shields for their troops? Something a civilian just wouldn't do. As long as their AI is ok, I think it'll be good.

What would be cool was some different behaviours, like following your troops around, or trying to surrender to aliens. Not all the time, but some would be too shocked and naive to do anything else. People are stupid after all. So you might have to use stun batons to protect them from themselves. Again, this would get tedious on every map, but would be a nice wrench in your plans every now and again.

  7. That's fine. As long as it's like TrashMan says, a skill that increases with use like the stats.

However, it's a bit fine detail. A good marksman is pretty accurate with any weapon, at least similar ones. I'm pretty good with pistols and rifles. But not fantastic with a shotgun, but accuracy with one is kinda moot I guess. My skill with a couple of specific rifles makes me better at them overall, like reload drills, jam drills and such. Maybe (very) slightly better accuracy with sustained fire because I know how the weapon kicks, where the trigger sweet spot is etc.

  8. Yeah, I thought about that as well. But I was thinking that you had no way of knowing that you'd get pieces that matched. However if, on that map, there are only submaps that match I guess it's the better way.
