  1. Sometimes the Community edition mod manager thing in the launcher will freeze when I try to delete a single mod, and then when it starts responding again every single mod is gone. This results in me being forced to reinstall the whole game to get the base CE mods again and to reinstall all of my steam workshop mods. Needless to say this is incredibly irritating.

  2. Yeah thanks, I decided to just go for it and it has worked. Currently have my forces divided as a squad of five and a squad with the vehicle and a rifleman to open doors for it xD. The obstacles are no issue, why'd you think the wheels are so big? It's to aid in crushing puny alien fences and experiments!

  3. I'm also having this issue.

The scenario is two completely stock f-17s fly into an air combat event with one alien fighter, they enter the fight and both of Condor 2s missiles are disabled to start with, I click to disable condor 1's missiles, the game freezes and I get a windows "Xenonauts has crashed" window.

No mods or anything, using a steam install on windows 7.

  4. Playing xenonauts again for the first time in a while, loving the bugfixes and stuff implemented since I last played. But one thing is pissing me right off. Walls.

Specifically the fact that aliens keep on doing this: crouching on the 'far' (from the isometric standpoint) side of a wall. This makes it, as far as I can tell, impossible to target them directly. I lost four soldiers trying to kill an alien who was in the open, suppressed and about three meters away. Because of this.

Am I missing something or is this an issue with the isometric layout? If so is it going to be addressed?

  5. I spawned into a ground combat, to find an alien very near to my chinook, I proceeded to fire every weapon I had at it, and being rather slow, it took me me about 5 minutes to realise it was a glitch and I was not cursed with constant missing! What had happened was the alien had died somehow, but he remained standing. His items were on the floor and there was the standard blood pool. Not really game breaking, just caught me off guard.

  6. Hi! First off I don't know if this has been brought up before, there are 400+ threads in the feature suggestion section, I am not willing, nor do I have the time, to check.

So my idea is something along the lines of a flare or throwable light or maybe even a throwable motion detector. The idea behind this is that no one likes it when your best man goes through a door or into a new area and BAM he is dead. With this useable item you could basically check an area for threats before exposing yourself to them.

Any comments or ideas? Please share your critizism.

  7. Also other reasons why the aliens may no go in for a strafe are:

    1) They would have to fly reasonably low in order to get a good aim and the alien ships aren't designed for atmospheric flight so they aren't stable so the risk of it suddenly having a drop or swerve crashing you into the floor.

    2) Local forces with AA, they would have it if they knew the threat was in the sky.

    3) They would be so traceable...

    4) Their weapons aren't (I'm presuming) as useful on ground attacks as a good ol' chain gun.

  8. I imagine if the aliens are sent to hunt and destroy your teams they would probably just make sure the transport was destroyed.

They are dealing with a defenceless and fragile target they have been sent out to totally destroy.

If the helicopter was damaged and attempting to land the alien fighters would just shoot it a few more times surely?

Same goes for parachutes or the wreckage itself.

On the other side we are dealing with tough and well armed vessels that we would like to take down with minimal damage in order to salvage and research them.

Big differences to both the craft and the amount of force used/required to take it down.

That accounts for why aliens can survive their crashes while our transports are death traps.

It could be a case of them thinking "They're all dead let's go now"

  9. Hi, I just read this whole post now...Wow guys..really?

I don't want to pour petrol on this fire, although that would be really cool looking, rather I want to pour water on it, so long as it isn't an oil fire...

Just a few points: "Your one of those people that everybody hates, because you give peeps headaches with your know it all attitude!

I feel sorry for you bro!" (Quote from NastyNative) *Sigh* First off, I don't hate him, and I think, well I know, I don't have a headache and if I did it would be due to my migraines. He doesn't in my opinion (Yeah I typed it fully instead of your IMO crap) have a know it all attitude at all, in fact I think you are the annoying one, claiming his calmly made points are angry and "attacking" You are the only one to swear and call someone else's opinion "Bullshit"

Another point "It's called OC" I believe the term you are looking for is OCD, and that is extremely, well, extreme to call someone OCD for correcting a blatant misuse of a word. I think pedantic would suffice.

Thanks, now chill, it isn't happening so get over it.

PS-Gorlom countering your opinion is adding to the discussion, he is discussing with you.
