  1. I had the same thing last night a lot. I'm not 100% sure but it seemed to be related to loading a game that was saved with a crash site on the map. I ended up logging off and logging back on as a different user (on my PC, which is running Vista x32). I started a new game and was able to enter 2 different ground combats without a CTD.
  2. I'll see if I can get some tonight. Saw a bunch of strange path stuff last night related to entering the back of the Bird Of Prey UFO, and some pretty confusing graphics for that UFO.
  3. Yeah, you've got the idea correct. Actually I was in 8.4 last night and some of the actions I thought were being charged AP weren't. But it looks like any time you move something into or out of your backpack, you get charged. So moving something out of the backpack would cost some AP and putting it right back in would charge you again: no net change, but double AP used. For ease of use, though, the first item I talked about would be really nice: like if you've got a laser pistol in your backpack and a normal pistol on your belt and you want to swap them. It would be great if all you had to do was click on the normal pistol and drag it up over top the laser pistol. When you let go, the normal pistol would be in your backpack and the laser pistol would be selected...so then you could put it on your belt with another mouse click. No idea how hard that would be but it would save you from having to find room to put the one item, then move the other item, then move the first item to where the second one was (3 moves to do a swap).
  4. All my saves say the game date is July, but when they get loaded, the Geoscape shows June.
  5. Two things bugged me about the Inventory UI, especially when you want to swap two items in your inventory, but have to shuffle things around to do it... Scenario: You want to swap a Medkit with a pistol. The Medkit is in your backpack, the pistol is on your belt, but there are too many things in both the backpack and belt to simply swap them. So, you have to drop the pistol on the ground, move the Medkit from backpack to belt, move the pistol from the ground to the backpack.......and you're charged the AP for each of those moves. The more practical way of doing it from the user's point of view is to click on either the pistol or Medkit, move it over top the other, and drop it. When you do that, the other item is now selected and you can move it to the other location, without the need to drop anything. The second scenario is when you're just generally moving stuff around and you make a mistake. You switch things back to the way they were...but you're still charged all the AP costs. Seems to me the total AP cost for interacting with your Inventory should be determined not by each individual action from A to N, but rather the AP cost of what's changed. Scenario: I move a pistol from my belt to my backpack, then back to my belt, then drop it on the ground, then equip it as a weapon...then put it back on my belt. In the end nothing's changed. You were just trying different things out, but it's counted against you. Just seems a bit mechanistic.
  6. Accidentally sent only 1 jet to intercept a UFO and only realized it when I was about to engage in combat. Set it to tail the UFO, then tried to click on the UFO so I could send a couple other craft into the battle...I could only select the trailing jet. I had to tell it to return to base so it would move away from the UFO far enough to click on it. Probably should have a way of selecting the UFO or the jet when both icons are overlapping.
  7. I entered a UFO and there was an alien beside the door on the inside. I turned and shot, then moved the soldier back out of the UFO. On the next turn, I moved a soldier in armed with a shotgun. I turned and targeted the alien, but was told the chance to hit the alien was 0%. I fired anyway just to make sure the label wasn't wrong...missed. I moved another soldier in, one square farther into the UFO...same thing. Moved the second guy across the room, turned, and suddenly I could target the alien.
  8. I had the same thing happen in 8.35, once when going through a doorway, and once when clicking inside a UFO's doorway but the soldier was around the corner (not standing in the doorway, but standing next to the UFO). Both times I got out of it by right clicking in a direction the soldier wasn't facing, forcing them to turn and look that way. The time I was trying to go into a UFO's door the sound of the soldier walking started to play, though the soldier wasn't moving. I actually hit the TURN button before I figured out how to unfreeze him. When the new turn came, the sound of walking was still going on, and the soldier was still stuck.
