Salutations! It's good to have another voice in the forums. If you're interested, do what you can for the community and share what you think about or what you have for us.
More hands are appreciated among the ongoing growing modder's community, so if you're taking some programming studies maybe you'd like to take a swoop at Xenonauts Modding, I'm sure you can benefit some experience from scripting mods.
Might just do that, honestly. The coding for the game seems overly simple enough to mod, If I can find time. I also do playtesting for a mod

I think it was because they were unnecessary after the first time you'd seen them (which is how the current system works), so spamming them before every mission just got in the way.
That said, I miss them too. It was for me a nice transition into the ground combat mission and if I knew how I'd gladly mod them back in.
I concur, I always thought the sudden transfer from the geoscape to GC was a bit... rushed. I always thought that there had to be a briefing or something to match that X-Com feel

Good evening... well... err... late night. It's currently 2:00 AM in my side of the world...
Anywho, my name is Scorpii, real name Christian. I'm currently studying computer programming (going to be entering my 2nd year, so I don't know anything) and I want to eventually become a game programmer. Maybe start my own indie studio. I have no idea, I have ambitions but I'll see what happens.
I've been lurking on the forums for a good month now, using mods and what-not and having a few posts, so I decided a formal introduction is in order.

So out of curiosity, I decided to browse the ol' Xenonauts IndieDB page and I noticed that these:

http://media.indiedb.com/cache/images/games/1/13/12696/thumb_620x2000/missionvictory.jpg
I have never seen these in the latest version of the game and I'm really disappointed that these aren't in the vanilla game. They make it feel so much like the original X-Com.
So my question is why were they removed?

Hm, seems simple enough

I was wondering how exactly I could go about increasing the number of civilians and friendly AI I would encounter during crash sites and terror missions. I always thought seeing like 3 civilians and 2 police officers in the middle of an industrial area at a crash site was a bit... low... and would like to increase the numbers.

Teach me, oh powerful master lol

Hello there
Anyway, this will be just a quick question. I was wondering if there was a way to make the economy system in Xenophobia revert to vanilla?
If not, eh, I'll just live with rebuilding dropships and planes and enormous amounts of ammo lol
Tanks love friendly fire

Especially when Reapers are involved. Or Chryssalids from X-COM or Enemy Unknown
