  1. Hello,

    I’m now in december 1979, loving it so far. Terror Attacks, Corvets, mechanized aliens... pain !

    Can you simply confirm, or not, there is no need at all to gather manually all aliens, weapons etc, as long as i finish the mission i get them all automatically ?

    I need to manually gather stuff only if i go back to the chinook and abandon the mission, right ?

    I’m playing OpenXcom with the -Files mod, it’s awesome, but i can’t stop thinking about Xenonauts, as i loved it back years ago...

    I see this mod looks greatly great, so i want to play it now...

    I’m trying to install this mod under Linux PC, and i have issue i couldn’t find answer.

    Based on what i understand, i’ve installed from Steam the beta Community, and launched the game via Proton, as they dropped Linux for the last updates.

    No issue there, i can play Community via Proton, it runs quite well.

    Then i download and try the exe from the 3 .zip. (i unzip, then launch the installation exe with WINE. I tried without unzipping first but WINE as trouble running from inside, it seems)

    I point to my install folder, and it starts to install files, in my case to

    Z:\home\tchey\.local\share\Steam\steamapps\common\Xenonauts

    As there is a hidden folder (.local), i write the path manually, and i also change / to \ but then the installer seems to run as intended.

    Then it goes boom :

    It considers it done, but "obviously" if i play, it’s the base Community version (but it does run, no crash).

    I also tried to manually copy/paste the Assets folder, it took a while, and at the it doesn’t work neither, it’s Community ingame.

    Could you help me ?  Anyway to install the mod without an installer, just files to place in correct folders ?

  3. Any chance to have access to this on Linux ? GoG Galaxy is still not avalaible to Linux despite almost 9000 demands on GoG suggestions http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/release_the_gog_galaxy_client_for_linux

    If not, well, i will wait... I loved X1 i with to be part of X2 but it seems i can't. Yet ? Anyway, from here, away from actual playtest, the progress look good so far, cheers !

  4. I've installed enonauts from Steam, then installed the mods in correct order. I didn't update nothing after that. However i've been stupid as i've deleted all the game and saves and mods, because after 3 days of trying, i failed to play my game again.

    I could load all the saved game, and play, until i saved again : crash. I tried with loading autosave, manual save on geoscape, manual save on battlescape, and a previous save too, all the same. I can play without any trouble, until i try to save, or until autosave.

    Not sure if it's related to XCE or another mod, but i have a deadly bug.

    I played for one ingame month, then a few days after, the game crashed to desktop. OK. I tried again, all good. I saved. Crashed. Now, everytime the game tries to save, autosave, or manual save, geo or battle scape, crash to desktop.

    I tried to desactivate other mods, but it's not helping. Reboot computer, same.

    I had these mods :

    Fire in the hole

    Fire in the hole no smoke

    Skitso's Oppressive UI

    Skitso's Sounds of Pain

    X:CE Balance Adjustments

    X:CE Settings

    X:CE Base Mod

    I played on Steam, and i've deleted all data, to start again.

  6. I'm not sure to understand what to do with the research bug. I've downloaded the hotfix, but i still have to do that ?

    In Research.xml replace all: CrusierDatacoreDbs->AlienCruiserDatacoreDsb (one time)

    AlienCrusierDatacoreDsb->AlienCruiserDatacoreDsb (two times)

    Summary: 3 replacement must occurs. Also there are some other Crusier names present but they seems not missplelled - so dont touch them.

    Load save game( preferably non battle ) and save it again in new file(for sure) - then saved game also receive correct spelling from research.xml

    I had this band : 1 flamer, 1 sniper, 2 machine guns, 2 shields, 2 assault guns. All with 2 grenades, 1 smoke, 1 flash, and 1 medkit, 1 recharge.

    I will try more !

    - Some weapons don't have description, like the flamer and AK47. Did i misinstalled something ?

    - What about the Aimed Shot ? Even if i don't move at all, i don't have the option to use use (it's grey).

    I'm playing xenonauts for only a few days now, and after some missions in Vanilla, i've decided to play with this mod and a few others (oppressive ui, map packs...).

    I play on Normal, and i find the difficulty quite insane. I had to abord the first mission, and the second, and the third... I managed to finish one mission without losing soldiers , and it was very long, maybe 2 hours, because i tried several times with save/reload.

    The BIG probelm comes from the new alien Gargols (i need at least 4 soldiers shooting like crazy at them, or they regen and kill one every round), and eggs (they one shot any solider coming too close). If i remember, on my first mission, so with bad equipment and crew, i've been fighting 5 armored lezards + 4 Gargols + 4 eggs + 2 UFO lezards.

    Also, i can't use Aimed Shot with any weapon even sniper ? And i miss a lot, even when the target is 10 meters away, no cover, my heavy is missing way too much. With vanilla it was much, much better.

    It is normal, the mod is supposed to be mega-hard and new players are dead-born, or i did something wrong ?

    I tried want to enjoy, but i was struggling too much. I kept playing only to understand what was wrong with me, but now i start to think it's about the game.
