how do i find out?

so my first play through going alright , (3 bases 2m income ect) any way shot down a medium craft went to the site and the map was a little glitchy ( colours weren't right objects clipping huge white squire area's) so i quit out and re-opened like normal every thing started normaly went to load my game and it crashed re-opened loaded a couple of times same thing happend so i restarted my computer (insert steps) and all my game files went missing i now have to start again , i know you can't do anything about it now , but i just thought i'd let you know about it P.S loving this game it brings me back to ufo :enemy unknown you guys did a fantastic job thanks for this gem
