Question - End of month report

I was checking for a translation the following string, belonging to the end of month report screen:

Alien victory at %1% lost funding regions!

But I realized I don't quite understand it...

In the example I had, it gave 4, where actually there were 6 regions lowering their funds (and no regions lost).

What is this string meant to show?

It's a trick of english, it means %1% regions lost (that fund you).

The number of regions that you can loose before you loose the game varies depending on the diffculty setting. That --> %1% changes to show you exactly how many regions you can loose - as in loose funding completely and permanently loose the region depending on the diffculty setting. If you want to see it in action, start up a game and do nothing.

I'll be honest, it took me a few attempts to work out what that meant. I wonder whether it couldn't be rephrased to make it a little clearer. ("After X countries are lost, the Xenonauts project will be terminated" or something like that?)
