Cursors in 3D

Just posting this as promised.

These are some modifications I made to the current standard cursors to make troops easier to select.

They have problems with the tops of the cursors lying under the selected object instead of over.

I will look into sorting that if I decide to redo these properly as they are just to make things easier for me at the moment.

I have added them here so anyone who wants to try them out can do so.

These are the vehicle boxes.
They should save in the .png format.
They need the associated spectre file altering to make them sit in the correct position.

Open them and alter the pivoty="119" to pivoty="140".

I feel that the top of the box lines should cover the units.

I am guessing you mean the problem I mentioned where the whole cursor sits behind the units, most noticeable on the vehicle cursor?

I think to get around that I would need to split the cursor in two and have the top half appear at a higher level.

No idea how to go about doing that atm though.

Will look into it later.

Bah always has to go that extra mile to prove me wrong :P

The only one that strikes me as odd is the enemy select.

It only appears when an enemy is visible to the friendly trooper you have selected and has the aim cursor over the top.

If the alien is not visible then the aim cursor appears alone.

I would suggest the top circle could have an eye or something similar, to show that the alien is visible to that particular trooper.

If there is no eye you know that the person you have selected cannot see that particular enemy.

These are the single troop select cursors.

Just copy these into the assets/tiles folder after backing up your current versions (in case you want to go back to using them later).

Very good idea ... some like in ja2 game ...

Actually, you do have to use them. I've told the coder to add a second selection circle above the head of the unit on mouseover. It'll make selection of units much easier.
