Max_Caine
I notice that while armours have adjustable FOVs aliens don't. I was wondering if this could be implemented as a way of making aliens more distinctive. Caesans, f'r'instance could have a 180 or even a 360 FOV to reflect their psychic-ness. Sebbies could have a more restrictive FOV to reflect their poor eyesight. And so on.
vaultdweller
I like the idea, but I wonder how the game would communicate what's going on and not leave some players wondering why some aliens can see them and why "dumb AI doesn't react to my presence at all!" Max_Caine
The only way I could think of communicating that clearly would take too long to code in - have a ! mark either above or on the side to show squaddies spotted by aliens. Have the research texts explain this in further detail?
Ol' Stinky
The only way I could think of communicating that clearly would take too long to code in - have a ! mark either above or on the side to show squaddies spotted by aliens. They could make new "alien spotted" icons for it. Have the white elements turn black if the alien can see the selected Xenonaut. So there'd be four icons instead of the current two. Gauddlike
Has the armour FOV been redone? Last I remember hearing about it was that it was now hard coded as the devs couldn't see a need for it or something similar. http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php/4770-v18-3hf2-Ground-Combat-Armor-LOS-angle-setting-do-not-work?highlight=armor+sight+angle
