No... I'm blinded by stabbing myself in the eyes from frustration when I can't understand the darn acronyms!

The intensly burning torch of hate I'm holding for the acronyms has nothing to do with my inability to see.

PS: are we being silly in this thread or should I tone it down?

Wow, speaking as the local newb, these are amazing! Do you think they could possibly if they get all done be loaded over into a mod combined with the alien class analysis one being done that also has amazing art? These two would be perfect together and look really rad!

Double post, but with a reason.

Could I borrow someone's savegame? The Terror Site xenopedia article is ready to be tested, but it needs a corvette to unlock it, an that means ploughing through many hours of game time to get enough troops and aircraft to shoot down and take a corvette. If anyone has a savegame (v19 or v20, don't care) with a crashed corvette which they're willing to loan, I'd appreciate it. If posible, if someone has a savegame with the first crashed corvette you've encountered, that would be super peachy keen (so I can make sure the Terror article intergrates with the corvette research article).

This is glorious and needs to be a thing. As of now, I feel like we're not making an effort (in-game) to understand alien behavior. I haven't beaten the game, mostly due to my attention span mandating I start a new game every long session, so I don't know what happens past January, but still. It seems like all we do is shoot down UFOs and take their stuff.

The single most frustrating thing to me about the game, that you've finally addressed, is the lack of analysis. Ironically enough, I happen to be a strategic intelligence analyst...I often find myself trying to do the P&I analysis on enemy troop movements and incidents nearly on a subconscious level, when I realize that the developers couldn't possibly have programmed the enemy to behave in the manner I'm trying to regard it in...

Needless to say, you need any help on how an intel puke would handle the alien apocalypse, just let me know.

Ok gang, the Terror Site one has been done, but the new one isn't uploaded yet as I have two more missions which I am trying to trigger. When I succeed with both, I will upload the new version with all three. As you will want to see what it is, here's a preview.

The zip has been updated with the three new mission briefings. I've made a slight change to the titles, and removed the "UFO" from the start of them. Felt unecessary.

EDIT: And folks, I seriously would like feedback and any suggestions you might make. It's much easier to change the words than the pictures, but I can suggest alterations to existing works.

You can try it out now if you like but there are at least three more mission types to do (base construction, base defence, interception), with a fourth when the abduction mission type is ready to go. Also whle writing this I realise that I have pasted v19 strings.xml into a v20 game, so I really really wouldn't do it yet!

This mod looks soo good! Gotta try it out!

Mayhaps I will be able to catch some of it in video too.

Let me see if I can show some of this in my next xenonauts declassified youtube video.

But before you do that...

I have removed the link to the UMA because I have accidently spliced a v19 strings.xml file into a v20 strings.xml file... and now I am waiting for Xenonauts to re-install so I can sort of the strings.xml file. >_< (Currently at 64% d/l'd)

The Ufo Mission Analysis and the Alien Class Analysis both work with v19 and v20. The ACA hasn't yet been updated for v20, but I'll get around to that.

EDIT 2: I was intending to combine both analysis mods when they were done. If people really want them now, then I can do that.

EDIT 3: Something I forgot to mention. The "Ground Attack" xenopedia article only shows up when you have the appropriate datacore, of course. The problem with that is you can only get fightercraft datacores when you face a fightercraft as the main UFO. If you face a main UFO witha fightercrfat escort, you don't get fightercraft datacores. I may have to expand the research parameters so it covers heavy fighters and interceptors, just in case a fighter wing never turns up.

EDIT 4: Tascruel, if you do end up showing off the mod, please can you credit the artist (Henry Ponciano) as well as me. He did do the art, after all!

It's deliberately not consistent with the rest of the Xenopedia, as the ufo missions are delivered by another voice, which is something I've tried to express in technical language, colloquialisms, idioms and delivery. Am I succeeding?

As long as it is at least written out as "Extra Terrestrials" the first time you use the term it should be fine. It is a bit weird how you start the terror mission entry with "aliens" and then switch over to ETs...

And yes ofc I would love to see the whole picture. (I was expecting the word "piccie" to be a link to the full picture)

PS. On the principal of the thing I need to curse you for using the acronym even if I got that one.

I sure will. Ofcource I will test the mod somewhat first.

Might be couple days, let's see.

I planned to add link to this page and mayhaps the general mods page in videos info.

Nice to see people working with the mods.

I can't wait to see what all you guys can create!
