Build V8 Preview!

Recommended Posts

For those unfamiliar with my timekeeping, a 'weekend release' usually means at 1am on Sunday night :)

Sadly that was not actually a joke.

Couldn't you make it a incy-wincy-tiny-little bit earlier.........Say like 12.02pm Friday 11/11/11? That's a nice round number and a lucky one at that.

i'm a bit confused where to get v8 when its out. will i be able to download it from my desura page or since its still a beta from here somewhere ?

If you already 1) have Desura installed on your system and 2) claimed the game key that was gifted to you, Desura's client software will in all likelihood update Xenonauts to Build V8 once it's released.

I have made the premium pre-order from Desura but there is no sign of a key number in any communication regarding the order.

. Does anyone else have a unique number with their pre-order?

Oh, no. I typed my post on the assumption that tservo1963 was a so-called legacy pre-orderer, i.e. bought the game directly from Goldhawk Interactive before PayPal cut them off. My apologies, I should've made that clearer.

If you purchased the game from Desura, you should be all set for the relaunch tomorrow. Instructions on how to claim your forum badge here.

Thanks for the replies, I am a legacy pre-orderer. I will check desura tomorrow and see if it updates when V8 is released. Had nothing but problems with Steam when i bought a game once, so I never went back and don't know how their updates work. i hope Desura is better.

Tough luck I guess. I have ~100 games. Never had a single problem (that wasn't caused by problems on my own end).

Can I set up my Desura stuff and play the pre-order builds but still end up getting a Steam Key, or am I out of luck if I don't want to end up using Desura?

As far as I know, nothing has been set in stone with regard to Xenonauts on Steam, yet. However I think Chris wants to give people the option to choose which service they want to use (Desura or Steam) and I expect you'll be able to choose a key for one or the other when the game is finished.
