I know your story, because it sounds remarkably like my own, as I also was brutally bullied as a child and toughened up as an adult. I also suffer really bad PTSD from my time in, as well as Complex PTSD from childhood trauma and other events I won't go into. Although, I've never attempted suicide. Apparently I'm constitutionally incapable, though there have been times I truly wanted to. Something in my inner psyche apparently still remains strong and stable. That all said, I also really like your idea, especially being a Hard Corps Devil Dog at heart despite a decade post-separation. Very much looking forward to seeing a release. Two caveats, though: People, "Marine" is a very special, earned title, and as such, it is always capitalized. i could care less if you capitalize Soldier or Sailor, whathaveyou, but seriously, spell Marine correctly. Secondly: in reference to MSGs, you seem to be implying that MSGs are MPs in training? MSGs are highly trained diplomatic and govt security troops, and they are mostly veteran NCOs.
