Rebel44
Hi all, Long story short, my Chinook was unable to reach mission site in Russia - from base located in USA. IMO it would be better to have worldwide reach for Chinook - simulating ability to refuel in flight or use military airbases for refueling. StellarRat
They also fly way too fast, but who's counting. :-) In reality, your chance of reaching a target in a Chinook 12,000 miles away is about zero. Odds are it would breakdown way before you got there.
Commissar Pancakes
Chinooks don't even have the capability for refueling in flight anyways.
Rebel44
Chinooks don't even have the capability for refueling in flight anyways. The MH-47D variant was developed for special forces operations and has in-flight refueling capability, a fast-rope rappelling system and other upgrades.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_CH-47_Chinook#HH-
Commissar Pancakes
Perhaps, but you have to remember this takes place in 1979. Not 2006.
djlogue
I think all craft should look like this

mace6442
Perhaps, but you have to remember this takes place in 1979. Not 2006. Perhaps, but you have to remember that we were not invaded by Aliens in our time line so developments were not forced. The 1979 line is null and void since most of the stuff in game has never happened.

It is just a technological and world status reference. Since you are touching on the technological aspect, your suggestion just beats the purpose of the reference. Tericc
Any new tech you see today had been invented 30 years ago. That new video card your using all brand spanking new.. there already been 8 video cards invented to replace that one. They will be individually issued to the public market when the most profit can be made. That Chinook in game is the one you know of in 2006. That "modern" special forces transportation info released in 2006 had already been replaced at least 3 to 4 times
thothkins
is that an alien under the tarp? Look at the low number of troops showing that Xenonauts accuracy is second to none. The 1979 line is null and void since most of the stuff in game has never happened. I thought the point being made was that the refuelling option would have to be there on or before 1979, in order for it to be your starting craft? was that the case for the MH-47D? MisterLock
is that an alien under the tarp? Look at the low number of troops showing that Xenonauts accuracy is second to none. You fogot the fact that xenonaut soldiers seem to stand on they're feet all of the way to a mission site and don't stay on benches and/or don't carry equipment in bags or crates...just they're backpacks... WalrusJones
Locking legs and passing out builds character. And advances humanity's fight for existence. Prior to passing out, it increases its population as well. *Totally just implied that the Chinook ride over is a massive bender.*
