leha Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) Is it possible to capture alien robots, symbiotes and civilians in the game? I would like to understand whether the process is worth the torture or is it useless? You can stun and put a civilian in a backpack, but then he disappears. And it does not count towards the mission. leha Posted September 30 Author Posted September 30 You can stun and put the symbiote in a backpack, but it still dies. It is possible to stun the symbiont last in the battle, but the mission ends with his death. Is there a theoretical possibility to take the symbiote captive in the game? I really want to capture them live 1 Quote
x60mm Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Don't see how that'd be possible as they die a couple rounds after being deployed by default. They're specifically created to have a lifespan measured in seconds realistically just to harass and tangle opponents. Quote
leha Posted October 7 Author Posted October 7 It would be great to hear a comment from the developers on this. Is it—even theoretically—possible to capture the aliens and civilians in question? I mean, I’ve tried some pretty crazy capture methods, but nothing works. Symbionts die. Robots explode. Civilians just get marked as "rescued." Still, I’m curious Why couldn't my soldiers bring a canister of saline solution along on a mission and stuff a stunned symbiont inside? Just pickle it in there for a few turns. If the mission ends while it's in there, you could capture it and bring it back to base for research (think of the movie "Aliens"). After all, if a symbiont can be stunned, that implies it goes into a coma—meaning its vital functions slow down. So, you could just rush it over to the lab for study It’s the same deal with the robots. Surely they have a button somewhere (readers from the USSR will get this reference)? Or a screw you could just unscrew to disable them without an explosion Quote
