Endominus Posted May 21 Posted May 21 (edited) At the defeat of the last enemy Sebillian, the game reports the mission successful, then the loading screen afterwards will either crash or hang permanently at the 87% mark. It never gets back to the geoscape screen. I've tested killing the alien with multiple soldiers, using the pistol, the mag pistol, the shotgun, and knocking it unconscious with the baton, it all either leads to a crash or hang. Problem doesn't seem related to the actual defeat of the enemy. It replicated every time I've tested it, 5 times so far. This is my first Ground Combat this campaign in the desert biome, I think. There's a line in the output log that mentions a misconfiguration with the local soldier Quote Left Hand Palm Offset wasn't set for: default^arid^male^2(Clone) - Disabling HumanIKControl. IK Controls were disabled due to mis-setup Combatant GlobalEntity 7045 - Soldier [Name:Local Soldier - Rank:soldier] LifeStatus:Conscious on GO default^arid^male^2(Clone) has IK disabled. Attached is the save file and output log of the last crash. Player.log auto_groundcombat_turn_15_start-97.json Edited May 21 by Endominus Separated out log part into a quotation. Quote

I can't seem to reproduce this on my end on 7.22.3 so we'll need your logs instead. Can you send us the output.log so we can look into what's going on? The game probably generated a bug report file as well, which you can locate by clicking "Local Folder" in the Main Menu and opening the BugReports folder. There should be a bug report .zip file with "...unhandled_exception" as part of its name. Can you send this file to us? Thanks in advance! EDIT: While we're at it, it would be good to switch to the dev build and try to make the game crash again so we can have the more detailed logs. It also looks like there might be an issue with your RAM as well? We need to see the logs to have proper context on what's going on. To switch to the dev build, Right click the game > Properties > Betas & Game Versions > development. Then load the save and try to reproduce the crash/hang. Quote
Endominus Posted May 21 Author Posted May 21 (edited) Unfortunately, the bug report folder was empty except for a .migration file from a few versions back. I found the output log, though. More errors about the IK system, as well as an OoM exception (odd since this machine has 32 Gb - I just ran the game again with the task manager open and it's not redlining.). I have the game on GOG, not Steam. The beta channels are disabled, unfortunately. Edit: Ah! I just ran the game in windowed mode to get a better look at Resource Monitor while it was crashing, and it finished the load. I got past whatever was causing the crash/hang. output.log Edited May 21 by Endominus Added more info Quote

It's a bit concerning you're not getting a bug report on crash though. It's not creating them in the old location, is it? That's in /Documents/My Games/Xenonauts2/ if that's accessible for you? Quote

No, I managed to find a workaround, like I said. While I was trying to get more detail about the issue from the resource monitor, I dropped it down to 1920x1080 and put the game in windowed mode. Apparently that got me through whatever was causing the hang and back to the Geoscape. Thanks for the offer, though! 1 Quote
