Killing captured aliens

Is it possible to kill captured aliens or that engineers can do corpse analysis with life aliens included?

Right now i can only sell it as junk.

On highest diff the aliens hit you all the time, so I use a lot of smoke cover.
especially in the UFO itself with 2 reaction shots per alien.
These are tough critters and very often a sniper hit or 2 does not overkill them, but turns them into sleep due to the bit of stun they collected.

I think that would be inhumane. First a re-education center should be constructed. And only if re-education program fails then an option to kill the alien should become available.

Psyons are purchased by government organisations to study their mind control  and telepathic communications abilities.

Sebillians are harvested for their stem cells in biomedical labs, though there are rumors of illegal fights clubs.

Mantids are delicious, but you have to cook them alive, like lobster.

Reapers are a special case where governments actually pay you extra to destroy them.

Wraiths are used by the cosmetics industry, apparently the liquid in their bulbs is great for your skin.
