Capturing general on the first mission

Is it resonable to capture him?

The mission is quite easy. I think it might be possible to capture the general

Yes, in fact you can capture every single cleaner in the first mission fairly easily.

I think it might be possible to go 100% of the team with shield and batons.

When i was a kid i was horrified by original 1993 xcom game. And it was capturing my imagination for many years.
Like when i was 8 or so. We played toys with my friends reenacting alien attack on a xcom base. And on that base there was an alien containment facility that aliens could reach. So could be fun to have a containment facility. Where we try to re-educate cleansers. But it can be dangerous if aliens reach this room during base attack. If like you say if multiple containment facilities are fully stuffed.

Actually the plot was like that:
There is a breakout from the containment facility with aliens coming to my friend location who has no route for escape. And in the middle of it aliens land nearby and start coming from the outside crushing the outside security too making situation even more hopeless for him. And i'm quite far from the base and i come with a rescue effort but i like oh no we can not break through to you they are too strong.

I'm playing highest diff iron man, and the first mission I find very easy with light armor, shield+baton, 2 smoke grenades and a gas mask.

Storm each room with all your units and 1 or 2 grenades and you have nearly no damage taken, but get one med kit just in case

With all units captured you get about 330k worth of salvage

35 OP for an operative

and 100 OP for the officer

By the way do i get OP for capturing aliens? Like if i capture every capturable alien every mission. Will i have ecxcessive amounts of OP?

No OP for alien captures, instead you get a damage buff on that alien, and faster training.

On the Convoy Raid mission, you can also capture everyone fairly easily. In fact, all cleaner missions without a reinforcements are good non-lethal missions.

Hmm, after caputring general and all 12 cleaners on the first mission.

OP panel opens up and i have 150 OP. Same to me killing everyone i think.

Then after my helicopter arrives i can interrogate general.
Also cleaner gets instant-researched but it only gives me 35 OP.
So it seems there is no point of capturing multiple cleaners huh?

By the way cleaners shooting. I really dont like how they always shoot a single bullet from the smg. And this is commander difficulty. Smg full-auto should be like 40% TU cost, not 50%. And full auto should be preferable mode of fire.
Some of them could hold just a pistol so that the 1st mission is still easy. Or there could be a single alien attacking both them and you. Or maybe no weapons at all. Like xenonauts came and cought them offguard. Like in xcom 1 game. During base attack some soldiers started at sleeping quarteers unarmed.

 

Otherwise it's more like they hold pistol carabines or smth.

Have you seen hong-kong movies before 1995 like police story with Jackie Chan, Mr vampire etc. It could be fun if it was a Chinese base in Hong Kong because in the game timeline honk Kong lease was extended for 20 years.

See, this could be the colonel-traitor. He can be a partner of general traitor. Because he is just very corrupt. And in the end of the game Hong Kong colonel pops in again and you can bribe him, so he can defect the defectors. Like there can be an optional lategame defense mission where you need to defend colonel's base. You need to pay 250k to do so without any benefit. When full base assault force comes vs your squad + 10 basic cleaners of the colonel. This would show the fact that 2nd tier military does not have a chance against the invasion
