Save games currently not syncing between different computers. Main saves on desktop playthrough but these are not appearing on my laptop. Nothing shown in "Continue" or "Load Game" in the main menu on the laptop. 

Utilising current main build "Full release 7.19.7" on both PCs. 

Steam shows "75.02 MB stored" data saved on steam cloud (I'm assuming these are the save games)

Are both PCs using Windows 11, or is one on Windows 10?

In that case can you check whether your saves are still in Onedrive? We've migrated the save location for Windows 11 saves to <username>\AppData\LocalLow\Goldhawk Interactive\Xenonauts 2\Saves, so if you copy over your saves to the new location, it should work.

After a bit more digging and lack of success I've found the following:

Steps taken on laptop (target) PC, left Desktop (Original saves) alone:

  • Deleted X2 folder from C:\Users\***\AppData\LocalLow\Goldhawk Interactive\
  • Deleted X2 folder from C:\Users\****\OneDrive\Documents\My Games
  • Deleted X2 folder from Onedrive online app and cleared recycling bin  "OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Xenonauts 2"
  • Reinstalled (clean install) X2 
  • Started a new game, got past tutorial, then manual save "test" 
  • Tried to find test save... 

Results:

  • New folder created by X2 in: C:\Users\****\AppData\LocalLow\Goldhawk Interactive\Xenonauts 2\My Games\Xenonauts 2\Saves\test_2ffcbe05 - contains "test" save "user_day_1_manual_save-1"
  • New folder created by X2 C:\Users\****\AppData\LocalLow\Goldhawk Interactive\Xenonauts 2\Saves - only contains steam_autocloud.vdf
  • New folder created by X2 / Steam / Onedrive - not sure what... at "C:\Users\****\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Xenonauts 2\Saves" - only contains steam_autocloud.vdf
  • Steam says "cloud up to date" - no sign of saves from other PC.. 

Let me know any other steps I can try.

Same problem here. Latest version, and save games are not syncing. I've noticed that I have a "My games" with a "Saves" sub-folder under my "Saves" folder, which doesn't look right.

Is your game (both PCs) on stable or experimentaal branch of steam? If on stable, can you try switching to experimental and see if that helps? Might also be worth checking if you've added any launch option override for your save game location on the game's properties in Steam.

The new save game location should be AppData\LocalLow\Goldhawk Interactive\Xenonauts 2-Editor\Saves
