SoftwareSimian Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Hard to get a screenshot (took 34x F12 to get the attached), and I don't remember this in previous playthroughs, but almost all the time now aliens get reaction-shot from just offscreen by my soldiers; the camera is centered on the alien with my soldiers one or two tiles off-screen. It's distracting because it's not obvious (or knowable) which soldier is doing the shooting. Just panning the camera a couple tiles towards the midpoint between shooter and target so that the shooter is onscreen before firing would be a huge improvement. Unrelated, and presumably not a bug, but an observation on a similar topic: miss dispersion seems pretty wild, much more so than I remember it. Sometimes my soldiers can hit a Symbiote from 25 tiles away, and then the next time they miss a Sebillian at like a 20° deviation from target. If they're going to miss, experienced soldiers should miss by only a small amount, sometimes it looks ridiculous (much more so than I remember from previous playthroughs). Quote

Sorry for the slow reply here. Are you playing on an ultrawide screen? I wonder if perhaps that has something to do with it. It'd be great if you had a save where we could repro an example of this, as I'd like to test whether it looks normal on my monitor - I've not really noticed this issue myself. Quote
SoftwareSimian Posted April 14 Author Posted April 14 Yeah, you can see specs in the upper-right of the screenshot. Screen resolution is 3840x1600 (so-called "21:9" (although it's actually 21.6:9 or 2.40:1)). If I'm able to find a savegame like this I'll post back. Quote
SoftwareSimian Posted April 14 Author Posted April 14 Not quite the best, but in this one a Sebilian should come around the corner and get reaction-fired from one or more soldiers off the bottom of the screen. Actually I managed to grab a screenshot of one of said reaction firings going pretty wild hitting the building about 5 tiles away from the Sebilian. auto_groundcombat_turn_8_end-1421.json Quote

Yeah, even on 1920x1080p the shooters are still offscreen. I'll get one of the coders to take a look at it. 1 Quote
