LeftyRighty Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I find it difficult/annoying to try and figure out where a lot of the doors are without constantly rotating the camera so it is "facing" the wall in question. I think it would be handy to have the top of the door sections show as a different colour to that of normal walls. Perhaps just a lighter colour, or hashed, or just a break in the colour demarking the edges of the door. Just something. In the screenshots there are 3 doors in that wall, I've highlighted one of them with awesome paint abilities so you get the idea I find it the worst in the alien bases and ships, but I think it would be handy in all maps. 2 Quote

You could also just make the doors render from both sides even if the fog of war hasn't been revealed on both sides, but that might be a lot more work? Quote
LeftyRighty Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 I stopped being lazy and redid the images a little, hope this makes it a little more obvious 1 Quote

But those obstruction shaders seem a bit fiddly to make work reliably & unclear if that'd be going against the grain of a lot of structural assumptions of how the game handles LOS & rendering for doors if they're rigidly handled in a terrain-y way not a unit-y way. Skitso Posted April 11 Posted April 11 ATLAS base blast doors are seen from both sides. I wonder if that's a bug actually, but what if all the doors worked like that? Quote
SoftwareSimian Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I noticed that damaged doors are visible from both sides. Quote
