Lack of immersion in the game's scenario

In my opinion, the game would be much more appealing if it weren't set in an alternate reality with the Soviet Union... Ukraine could belong to Europe, and the Eastern bloc could be Russia and China, keeping the other bloc as Asia-Pacific.

Otherwise, it's just a detail, I'm really enjoying playing Xenonauts 2, congratulations on the excellent game you've made!

Other than you having problem with Soviet Union is there actually an immersion problem? Because what you wrote, read just as a personal preference. Cold War era fits this game (just as I believe would 2026's  global state of affairs would also fit quite nicely, but the game started development much earlier to adopt it)

Edit: And also without getting too much into Geopolitcs it should be India, Russia, China as Asia-Pacific - as it's evident China and India can resolve border disputes when pressed against a common threat, because India is a major power in the region that can't really be ignored in that kind of grouping
