leha Posted March 14 Posted March 14 When changing a soldier's armor at base, a funny bug occurs where only the soldier's head is shown. This can be fixed by switching between soldiers. Quote
fusion-waffle Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) The v7.9.0 changelog included a bugfix that sounds like it was intended to fix this, but maybe the fix doesn't work or only addresses some cases of this issue, so it's helpful to know that in v7.9.0 the issue is still happening: Quote Fixed the soldier paperdoll disappearing if you changed the loadout of an unassigned soldier on the Armory screen. This has been an issue since v7.1.0 Edited March 14 by fusion-waffle Quote
leha Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 Ok, I'll try reinstalling the game and see the result. Quote

Pressing F11 creates a bug report .zip file which you can upload when you make a reply so we can look into the logs and see what's going on Quote
leha Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 After reinstalling the game, the version was updated to 7.10.0, and the required files can no longer be downloaded to find the bug. This bug has been fixed in version 7.10.0. Thanks for the fix! However, bugs frequently appear during allied or enemy turns. My favorite part of the game, ground tactical battles, has become a torture. In almost every mission, I have to find a stuck enemy or ally and try to "get around" them. Do I still need these bugs from version 7.10.0? I've read on the forum that they're common. Quote

But, all of the common bugs with tactical battles have since been fixed in more recent versions. If you update to the latest experimental version, v7.13, these bugs will be fixed & the game will be a lot more playable (although v7.13 has a new crash-to-desktop bug when engineering upgrades are built). The downside is that v7.11 -- v7.13 are not compatible with v7.10 save games. If you choose to update to v7.13 you will need to start a new campaign. Edited March 23 by fusion-waffle Quote

Good to know that the fix worked for you As fusion-waffle has stated, the latest build, 7.13 is a bit more stable than previous versions, unfortunately, you'll have to start over a new campaign as the saves are not compatible. We're releasing another patch soon that fixes more crashes and other issues, and we plan to fix as much bugs as we can prior to release on April so the game should get even more stable in the coming days. If you choose to update to v7.13 you will need to start a new campaign. The downside of the new versions—the incompatibility with previous versions—is currently one of the game's main drawbacks for me, unfortunately. Since I'm not a fast player, I only manage to play for two or three months at best before having to start over again. This is annoying, although I understand the rush given the imminent planned release. Quote

We're releasing another patch soon... Thank you for developing the game I've been dreaming about for decades! And thanks for the warning against starting a new campaign! After all, releasing new versions inevitably makes it impossible to load previous versions of the game. It's like sadomasochism from the developers So I have a small suggestion, since the only versions I found to be the most buggy were 7.9 and 7.10, while the others were perfectly playable. Perhaps in the Steam client settings, the available versions of the game should be listed not in encrypted form (standard public, experimental, etc.), but specifically by number (for example, 7.9, 7.10, 7.11, 7.13, etc.)? This would make my life as a player much easier Quote
